illegal immigration

Introduction

The government should limit the benefits which are provided to the illegal immigrants which enter the United States. This is because giving illegal immigrants benefits decreases this opportunity which should be provided to citizens and immigrants who have legal gained entrance into the country. Allowing illegal immigrants to receive government benefits is considered to be unfair to tax paying citizens and also limit the chances of legal immigrants to obtain benefits.

Recently, there have been cases of American president closing the country borders to control illegal immigration. Mexico is one of the countries that have the largest number of illegal immigrants in the country. The illegal immigrants do not get the right papers for entering of the country such as work permit that makes them productive in the country. However, due to their low status, lack of education and unhealthily lifestyle makes them prone to indulging in criminal activities such as drug smuggling and crime which imposes threat in the country (Watts, J. R., 2018). Providing such people who are not positively contributing towards the economic development of the country will be a waste of resources.

Giving the illegal immigrants benefits restrict the availability of resources and opportunities for benefits meant for citizens and legal immigrants who tirelessly work and contribute to economic development of the country. If illegal immigrants get the benefits, some of them will use the money to do illegal activities and purchase weapons for criminal activities (Hanson, G. H., 2017). Such individual do not have clear records associated with them hence making apprehending and eliminating their negative tendencies to be challenging.

It is also not fair for the citizens who pay taxes and the legal immigrants because a substantial amount of their monetary efforts is usually utilized in funding benefit programs. If their contributions direct towards such causes are used to benefit illegal immigrants, the money will not trade positively to boost the country however some of them will take back the money to their country without a trace and use them for intended purposes (Brown, J. A., 2016). Illegal immigrants may form a tendency of accumulating wealth through their cartels which does not culminate to any positive economic development in the United States.

Education is considered a basic right in some states despite the condition of legal status, giving illegal immigrants access to monetary benefits which support them to pursue education decreases the amount of money that the government should distribute to everyone (Wilson, D., & Guskin, J., 2017). . This condition will also lead to an increase in education cost since many individuals will be seeking to pay for their education hence resulting in an increment of fees for lawful immigrants and citizens. The immigration rate associated with illegal foreigners will increase since they will be seeking an opportunity to take advantage of the benefits for personal gain.

The illegal immigrants do not have any verified credentials and qualifications which enables them to contribute positively or assist in economic development in required standards. Most illegal immigrants provide substandard labor or workforce which is destructed to the economy of the country. They should not be provided with any benefit to enabling the government adequately cater for their legal counterparts and citizens whom their efforts are reasonably realized (Brown, J. A., 2016).

Presently, illegal immigration is associated with increased crime rate due to their poor economic status and the urge to obtain wealth through uncertified means. The condition has pushed the current government to opt for giving illegal immigrants the opportunity to choose between government assistance and issuance of green cards that enable them to get a permanent settlement. This move is meant to create balance to enable availability of funds to support citizens and legal immigrants (Hanson, G. H., 2017). Denying those benefits reduces their burdens on the American population who are paying taxes and the money that will be preserved form denial of benefits will avail resources to boost health care for citizens and also enable the country to expand its economic projects around the world. The American government support various programs nationally and internationally which assist in pursuit for globalization, if the benefits are limited to legally qualified individuals there will be money saved for boosting international relations.

When the illegal immigrants are used to receiving benefits, they will lose focus in pursuit of activities that will enable them to be financially stable. Most of them will deter economic activities which will assist them to be independent but will live depending on the assistance (Watts, J. R., 2018). There are various ways that taxpayer’s money can be utilized to promote development of community to ensure that various systems are developed to assist in provision of high standards health care, initiation of societal based systems that ensure that citizens are less independent upon government and expansion of economic generation segments such as manufacturing sector, agriculture, and commerce purposes.

Denial of benefits will enable the illegal immigrants to be issued with green cards that will bring them onto citizenship status that will enable them to pay taxes, seize from getting benefits and turn into economic developing individuals in the American society. This will lessen the financial burden upon the government and provide the illegal immigrant’s opportunity to better their lives through personal effort to attain success.
