Scholarly Paper Assignment Value: 35% Purpose: The purpose of this paper is to provide students the opportunity to practice the following academic skills: • Performing a literature search • Synthesizing information from different scholarly sources • Writing an academic paper • Using correct spelling, grammar and punctuation • Correctly use of the APA Manual (7th ed.). Instructions: 1. Topic • Patient handover: How do we avoid errors? 2. Select three articles from your literature search. 3.. The matrix should have the following sections: • How are the three papers the same? • How they are different? • Is there one opinion with which you agree more? Why? 4. Write a paper consisting of the following sections: Introduction • Provide brief background of the topic • Include a thesis statement • Maximum 1/3 page Body (each point should have one or two paragraphs) •[unique_solution] Describe the topic • Describe how the three papers are the same • Describe how the three papers are different • Discuss which opinion you agree with more. Explain why you prefer that opinion. • Maximum three pages Conclusion • Summarize the topic background in one or two sentences • Summarize how the papers were similar • Summarize how they were different • Restate which opinion you agree with • Maximum 1/3 page Technical Aspects • Use APA style 7th Edition. • Apply mechanics of good writing (grammar, spelling, punctuation) that you have practiced in this course. • Maximum length: 5 pages. Minimum length: 4 pages. This excludes title page and reference page. • Attach all three articles as an appendix to the paper • Grading rubric is posted
