The analysis of the effects of beginning a course is one of the most fundamental approaches to ascertaining the relevance of the course in attaining the intended objectives. Proper adherence to the course expectations could be done to enable an efficient evaluation. The students are in a position to determines if the course has been useful in attaining the intended goals (Lumpkin, Achen, & Dodd, 2015). The primary aim of the paper is to analyze the history of the united states of America and ascertain the possible courses of action for the next class apart from evaluating how the course content has impacted on the opinions of the life in the US.
Studying the history of America has been critical in helping me appreciate different demographic factors that have an effect on the modern lifestyle among diverse cultures in the entire nation. Additionally, I have been able to understand the source of various styles of governance utilized in the country and states. Appreciation of the diversity of the current US is one of the main areas that has been impacted by the course and the life I lead. The history of different historical events like the movement of Europeans to America since the time of Columbus is one of the essential sources of diversity. The creation of trade with other states like India and China that lead to the immigration of the eastern communities in the US is also another source (OpenStax. 2019). The existence of the African nations was majorly due to the slave trade, which mainly involved the Africans. All these factors have made the US be one of the most diverse states having more than twenty different races.
Obtaining knowledge on the culture of the Americans and other events that had an impact on the country are other elements that will influence my daily life. Cotton farming and the whole textile industry by Europeans are also some of the relevant events that had an impact on the culture of the US population (OpenStax. 2019). Accordingly, this boosted industrialization and the development of other innovations. Slavery among Africans is another event that contributed to diversity in America.
I am able to offer some details of the course to the next batch of students enrolling in this course. The course has been instrumental in my appreciation of different cultures of our nation because I have been capable of understanding the existence of various cultures. This has also affected my nursing profession because I have been able to provide tailored made services to multiple individuals. Since the course offers extensive knowledge of the country from different perspectives, there is a need for students to be aware of the comprehensiveness of the course materials (Lumpkin, Achen, & Dodd, 2015). Grouping of the learning materials into different historical periods is one of the approaches I utilized to navigate the challenge. This was effective in grasping the content of one period at a time. Additionally, I also established a summary that had a clustered learning period and the events that occurred.
There is a need for learners to read widely on various topics utilizing the available material. The students will be capable of understanding the content when they read the topics of interest (Lumpkin, Achen, & Dodd, 2015). This will also ensure that the expected objectives of the students are met. Moreover, reading widely is the only way that the students will obtain higher grades. The establishment of learning groups by the students will also be useful in discussing different topics. This will increase the retention levels and enhance learning speed. The group discussions are also helpful in boosting student’s confidence because they are able to seek clarification.
