Gallup Strengths Finder Results
My strength’s results from Gallup Strength Finder included relator, belief, context, consistency and maximiser. The “relator” strength suits the type of people who enjoy building firm and close relationship with others. Furthermore, research conducted by Miller & Miller (2019) also shows that people who are “relator” always found deep satisfaction when working with others to achieve a common goal. The “belief” was my second strength in the result. People who have the “belief” as their strength like to learn more about executing tasks and they tend to have unchanging core values. The context was the third strength. People who have the “context” as strength enjoy thinking about the past. Further research by Robitschek, Sirles & Hardin (2014) also shows that people who fall under this category understands the current situation through thorough research regarding the past. Consistency was the fourth strength. According to Kaiser & Overfield (2011) people who have consistency as their strength develop an awareness of treating people the same irrespective of their social differences. Furthermore, they treat people with consistency by setting rules and keenly following them. The fifth strength was “maximiser. People who have “maximiser” as one of their strengths like to stimulate group and personal excellence.
Reflection
Am really surprised with results as they are significantly connected with my self-perception of my preference, personality and leadership strengths. For example, “relator” is closely connected with my “extraversion” personality type as am talkative and likes to interact with people around me. In addition, social gathering, meetings and conferences are my centres of attraction which is closely related to my leadership skills of “interpersonal and personal” that enables me to interact effectively with others. I slightly agree with “belief” strength as I moderate believe in using my leadership style of transformational to impact change without a change of organizational core values. Furthermore, I slightly agree with “context” as strength as diverse results from the psychometric test show that am a type of a leader who facilitates decision making and solves problems by researching more about the past in order to dig deep the root cause of a problem.
The results will collectively have a positive impact on my current and future leadership role. For example, by drawing the “maximizer and relator” as my primary strengths, am able to concentrate on public relation framework which will assist me in future to develop a conducive work environment and improve employee relations. With improved relationship and attractive workplace, my leadership with inspire the employee to enhance their performances and increase the degree of employee retention. I also consider “consistency” to have a big impact on my leadership role as treating people equally from diverse race, ethnicity, religion and considering gender balance with reducing workforce conflicts and resistance to change. In addition, with low or no resistance of change and combination of my transformational leadership, I leverage resources to increase the impact or performances in an organization. Generally, the use of all strengths as drawn in Gallup strength finder will boost my leadership abilities through the facilitation of effective core values, targets and vision and encouraging employees to work in teams for achievement of the better results.
