This step comes after the problem is defined well. Help may either come from resources that may have the information regarding the issue or from any other source. Evaluating the alternatives
At this stage, one has the desire to come up with the most efficient method of solving a particular problem. Decision making
This step comes after identifying the best alternative method to solve a specific problem. If a group or a committee determines the decision, then the proposal is made at this period. The plan defines all the outcomes of the chosen method or alternative.
Implementation of the decision
The step entails practicing the method or the decision made. Actions taken involves what is implied in the decision made. Just deciding to do something by yourself does not help so much. A decision will take place after all the action plan has taken place in the right manner.
Evaluation of the made decision
All decisions made are essential and intended to improve a particular situation. In ethical decision making, the most tricky part is defining whether a problem was ultimately, partially, or not solved. An evaluation is done at the expense of solving the problem.
Example
Assuming that you are in your bedroom while dressing and someone tries to open the door unknowingly, but before he or she manages, you screen out loudly, and so he stops. How could you react to this? There are so many options for this. One is, giving a hefty slap on the person who tried to open the door. Secondly, you can excuse yourself politely and request him not to enter. Fatigue
One of the most significant challenges of the social service worker is fatigue. Some services require delivering products and services to the homesteads of other people. This process may involve much traveling resulting in fatigue. Most workers working primarily in the health sector also experience this problem. The health sector requires total attention to a patient. Therefore, most of the time is spent while standing and walking here and there, especially in the hospital. Technology Problems
Secondly, technology is growing at a high rate. One needs to acquire knowledge and adopt new methods of working via new technology as fast as possible. Technology, especially in hospitals, has improved at high rates. The technology helps in enhancing efficiency, especially in record keeping and elevating quality treatment in the health sectors. Despite it having the positive side, it is quite intimidating and challenging to other specialists in this sector who do not learn and adopt new methods quite quickly. Therefore, this situation becomes a big problem for them.
Challenge that I will most struggle with
Moreover, well-informed clients, especially in the health sector, become a significant challenge to specialists. Internet comes in and makes every information as easy to access than one could ever think. Patients mostly, come to the hospital after they have done much research on whatever problem they are having. Therefore, they get much information about the medication, the steps taken by the doctor, and many more. By the time they approach a specialist in the hospital, they already know their problem. Therefore, this situation is quite scary to any specialist who is not very sure of what the patient is suffering. This situation also applies to many business sectors. It is not funny to find that a service provider in the hospital is providing medical services to a colleague doctor at an advanced level may be (Woodside & McClam, 2014).
Strategies for dealing with the challenge
Gather enough knowledge
Gathering enough knowledge about a specific line of service provision increases one’s confidence. Confidence at work, especially in service provision, is quite essential. There is a strong possibility of challenging the customers if asked a question that they are not sure. This strategy helps in solving the challenge of the fact that people come to receive services after doing much research on the same (Woodside, & McClam, 2014).
Accept the challenge
One of the best solutions to the problem is accepting the challenge. People typically learn from past mistakes done or challenges. All the challenges that one will get from a client should be taken positively. Problems will always be there to make a person stronger now and then. Working from an office or a sector where clients do not place a problem makes one have retarded growth, especially in professionalism. It is from the difficulties placed that one will realize what he or she does not know and therefore needs to read more about it.
