Application for Master Degree in Applied Psychology to Angelo State University
I hereby present my application to the College of Graduate Studies for a chance in Master degree program in Applied Psychology. I am 22 years old and currently pursuing a degree program at the University of Houston and at the same time, working as a Realtor and Insurance Agent. I look forward to completing my degree debt free and join Angelo State University for a master program. Once I finish my masters, I will focus on earning my Ph.D. as soon as I graduate with my master’s degree. In my family, I will be the first person to sail to such a level and am proud of myself and those behind me supporting my education. Being raised by a single mother means a lot to a student. I had to endure to become what I am today and to achieve all the success am mentioning today. I always wanted to set a pace for the rest of my siblings and for sure, they looked up upon me as a role model. I have the passion for the insurance industry, and all could be explained when I got licensed at 18 years of age.
Additionally, I have been in the insurance field as early as 14 years. At 21 years, I started working at a real estate industry. At first, things didn’t seem smooth in college, and I almost drop out of college because I lacked focus and I did not know exactly what I wanted in life. Thanks to my mother who would never let me give up in my quest for success.
The insurance business when integrated with the real estate would bring the best out of me. Once I graduate from the University of Houston, I want to become a prominent insurance underwriter for a famous company. The real estate industry will enable me to pursue the psychology at the college level now as a lecturer, and this explains why the anticipated chance at Angelo State University is of great importance to my career objective. I aim to have several jobs which supply income to my family from all corners. I seek to venture into research on why student loans are not appropriate. I have been surviving on grants, scholarships and paying for college with my own money. My interests would be, if I have survived without loans, why would someone be forced to take a semester off due to lack of the student loan. I want to become a college professor and teach psychology and change the young generation just as I did when I was appointed a church mentor. Up to the level I have reached, I have learned that winners never quit and quitters never win. Struggle to the end. That is why I need to teach psychology in college upon attaining my masters.
