Different parts of EV:
Battery – The battery is the main power source of EV. It provides electricity to power vehicle accessories.
Charge port- This is similar to the charging point that you can find in all the electrical devices. It is used to connect an external power supply which eventually charges the battery of the EV.
DC/DC converter- It converts high-voltage DC power from the traction battery pack to lower-voltage DC power. This power is required to run the vehicle and vehicle accessories.
Electric traction motor- This motor is responsible, to use power from the traction battery pack. It drives the vehicle’s wheel. In some vehicles, you can also find the use of motor-generators to perform regeneration and drive functions.
The onboard charger-The function of this part is to convert the AC power from the charging port to DC power for charging the traction battery. It also governs the current temperature, current, voltage.
Power electronics controller-It manages the flow of electrical energy to control the speed of electric traction motor.
Thermal system (cooling): It is responsible for maintaining the operating temperature range of electric motor, power electronics and other parts.
Traction battery pack: It stores electricity for the usage of the electric traction motor.
Transmission (electric): It transfers mechanical power from the electric traction motor that is responsible for driving wheels.
These were the basic components of an electric vehicle. Besides, there is a modification of the same. When you pursue learning course on EV, you will learn more details about the functioning and manufacturing of these parts and how it will work together to make the EV function. SICCES Pvt. Ltd. is a renowned platform to learn about these parts and how they work. You can enrol for this program and become an expert on EV designing and manufacturing.
