Analyzing a Current Event
You final paper will involve analyzing a newsworthy event in light of social psychological principles. The event can be any type of event that has been in the news either currently or in the past 3 months (articles dated later than 3 months will not be considered).
Requirements (use as a checklist before turning in your final paper):
- You must attach the actual newspaper or magazine article with your final paper. The article must be from a respected news source and must be a journalistic news article NOT an opinion piece (no editorials or blogs allowed).[unique_solution]
- You must analyze the event using at least 5 social psychological principles or theories
- The 5 social psychological principles/theories must be from at least three separate chapters in the book (which may include the final three chapters on social psychology and law, business, and health if they apply to your article)
- Must underline or bold-face the 5 social psychological principle/theories in your paper, briefly define them, and explain how they apply to the circumstance your are analyzing
- Papers should be no less than 3 pages and NO MORE THAN 5 pages
- Papers MUST be typed and double-spaced
