Involving Junior Staff in Setting Organization’s Vision in Japan
Leadership is practiced in every organization where leaders have authority over their employees. The managers of an organization are the leaders of that particular organization because they supervise the junior staff. For an organization to achieve its goals, the leaders of that organization should be able to make an inspiring vision for the future, motivate the junior employees to engage with that vision and manage the delivery of the vision.
In an organization, a vision is a depiction of where the organization intends to achieve in the future. A vision includes the setting of realistic goals and should be attractive. Vision provides priorities and the direction of an organization. A good leader should be able to set a realistic vision for the organization and implement the vision without opposition from the junior staff of the organization. The junior staff in every organization plays a central role in the implementation of the organization’s vision.
Most organizations in Japan spent a lot of resources in setting the vision because it’s only through a vision where the managers of an organization can tell the direction of the organization. The implementation of any vision cannot go smoothly if the junior staff of the organization is not involved in setting the vision.

A good and realistic vision provides a rich picture of how the future of the organization will be. Effective leaders involve the people being led in the process of setting the vision so that the vision will be implemented without any opposition from the junior employees.
