The cultural differences of business in different countries
I will have to provide some of the references as we need to use some of the articles from my universities online library. The outline is due tomorrow but the rest is due throughout our semester. Outline + Annotated Bibliography (15%) – due Monday, Feb. 3 The first piece of work will require you to conduct initial exploratory research on a topic of your choosing, and to produce an outline of your proposed research project. Along with this outline, you will also produce an annotated bibliography that contains reference list entries and summaries of three academic journal articles; this is to gain experience in reading and analyzing academic work. You may choose any research topic you wish, but it should be connected to business in some way.[unique_solution] To create a research paper outline, you will need to conduct some initial exploratory research to make sure that the topic you have chosen is robust enough to create the project you have in mind, and narrow enough to ensure you don′t get overwhelmed with information. Your outline should include the following components: Title page, including full academic information and proposed title of the research topic Research concept In no more than 3 pages, describe the research topic you have chosen to study. This includes defining any key terms and concepts, explaining why the topic is important and relevant, and a basic overview of your research plan (What types of sources will you search for and why? Be specific). Annotated bibliography Provide full reference list entries (using APA 7th edition guidelines) for at least three academic sources that relate to your proposed research topic. After each entry, summarize the item in no more than one page; keep in mind that you are not just copying the abstract of the article, but you are actually using your own words to describe what you have read and understand. Evaluation of this element will be based on how accurately you are able to capture the information provided in the item. Literature Review (20%) – due Wednesday, Mar. 4 The second deliverable is a more extensive literature review, which is essentially an overview and evaluation of what has already been written about a given topic or subject area. Its purpose is to provide background for your own study, as well as to determine where there might be gaps in the literature. In 8-10 well-written pages, drawing from at least 5 relevant academic sources, your literature review will include: Title page, including your full academic information and proposed title of research topic A table of contents that lists all of your headings and sub-headings along with page numbers Presentation and discussion of literature you have found related to your topic I will be looking to see that you have organized the research into sub-topics or themes, and that you are able to group different pieces of research together by making links between what different authors have written. You should also identify where there are weaknesses (e.g., where are the gaps in the literature? what information would you like to know but couldn′t find any writing about?) You will present your literature review so that the ideas are coordinated and your paper flows well. Use headings (and sub-headings, if appropriate) to help organize your work. A list of references, formatted using APA style (annotations are not necessary). Final Research Report (15%) – due Wednesday, Apr. 1 The final research report will incorporate your literature review into a more robust paper that includes: Title page, including your full academic information and proposed title of research topic Abstract/executive summary (no more than 1 page) Table of contents Introduction Literature review (amended as necessary following initial submission) Key findings and conclusions Full reference list, formatted using APA style (annotations are not necessary) The paper will be formatted using APA style guidelines for layout
