Winning the ticket to the white house is always a tough struggle. Donald Trump may appear to enjoy an added advantage since he will be fighting for a second chance rather than winning the first trust. On the contrary, however, being at the throne has given his critics a lot to talk about. It seems that Trump will have the toughest of the fights if at all he manages to win his party’s ticket to run for the post. Trump’s contest begins right from the Republican Party. There seems to emerge a group of Republicans who share different opinions concerning his current leadership. The fact that trump leads through instilling fear champions for the building of a border wall and gives the wrong interpretation on the reason behind building the wall are among reasons the journey back to the White House in 2020 will be difficult.

The members of Republican Party will most likely distance themselves from politics that ruin the popularity of the party among the Electorate. A clear sign that should worry the current president is the recent call for an amendment to oppose the presidents bid on the Middle East policy that received great support from his party members.
Building a Mexican border wall could do more harm than good to Trump’s 2020 political ambition. The president is currently considering compelling the Congress into declaring a state of emergency concerning building the wall. The result of the latest president’s move is most likely to be a split within the Republican Party. When divisions occur within the party, the expected reaction is that the members may decide to vote out the leader. The warning from Senator Mitch McConnell of Kentucky of a possible rebellion in the party gives a clear picture that the president is losing significant popularity in his party and this could be lowering his odds for the 2020 race. Well, there seem to be more important issues affecting Americans such as climate change and gun violence, and any candidate who addresses this problem will undoubtedly win the voters’ hearts and this certainly not Trump.
The current request on the federal investigation could still be Trump’s beginning of a downfall. The reports connecting Trump’s victory in the last election to Russia could be taken negatively by Americans. America is an independent republic that will fight against all the odds against outside influence into its political structure. The investigation that has been going on for some time is putting Americans in a state of uncertainty, and this is not healthy for the political life of any candidate. It is for sure that opponents will take advantage of the uncertainty surrounding Russia involvement in Trump’s victory to win the vote.
In conclusion, it is sure that Donald Trump will face a harder time going back to the White House as compared to the first time. The Americans may act much differently towards his leadership that upholds fear to show power. The building of the border wall could be viewed as destroying America’s reputation and thus working against him. Finally, if at all Russia was involved in the 2016 elections, the outcome of the investigation is critical for President Trump’s re-election.
