Social media platforms allow people to interact with close friends. In most cases, individuals share their thoughts on various issues affecting their lives. Twitter has been an important platform where people express their feelings. Extensive use of interesting posting patterns discloses the sentiments expressed by those who tweet. The emojis play a significant role as they allow people to express their facial expressions when communicating through social media platforms. Although one may disregard the effectiveness of the language used in social media postings, text, use of emoji, jargon, and punctuations reveals the psychological suffering and mocking in Liljay1k’s depressing tweets.

The text used in tweets reveals that Jaden experienced chromic stress due to racial discrimination. For instance, the statement “100,000 niggas laughing at my pain” discloses the source of suffering that Jaden was going through (“Jaden on Twitter” par. 1). Jaden felt that the people of color caused his misery by laughing at his suffering. Blacks may have tortured Jaden through harsh words. Figure 1 below shows Jaden exchanging harsh words with Crypt, a follower on twitter.

Crypt seems to mock Jaden by using the phrase “goat man.” The image shows the difference between the treatment by the people of color and the Whites on Jaden. Hence, the text in Liljay1k’s depressing tweets reveals the role of racial discrimination in his suffering.

The yellow fire emojis signify Jade’s level of insanity. “@850 credit score” intends to mock Jaden for expressing his disappointment. Therefore, the presence of many and mocking emojis reveals that Liljay1k’s twitter followers were a significant source of the depressive conditions.

Slang and jargon in Liljay1k’s tweets represent a state of frustration. The tweet “it feels like nobody is listening” shows Aden’s concerns about his friends’ behavior of not listening to his please and complains (“Jaden on Twitter” par. 2). Lack of an immediate response seems to frustrate Aden and motivates him to use slang language. The answer “yo wassup” is a jargon by Aden (“Jaden on Twitter” par. 2).  The phrase expresses the frustration of failing to gain significant attention from the followers. Thus, jargon in Liljay1k’s tweets reveals a frustrating situation.

Pronunciation marks in Liljay1k’s tweets reveal a case of mockery. The response “nigga u still depressed?” is sarcastic (“Jaden on Twitter” par. 2). The reply seems to mock Jaden for the depressive state. The question mark makes the intention of the statement clear. Thus, punctuation marks explain the factors that escalated Liljay1k’s depressive state.

In summary, people use different forms of language tools to express their thoughts and feelings in social media postings.
