greatest achievements for the last 5 decades
The most three greatest achievements for the last 5 decades include education accomplishment, career growth and starting a family. These achievements have been critical in my life as they have helped me in shaping my life and working towards the goals that i highly value in life. I believe that with good plan and management I will accomplish more goals in my life. Most of these achievements started as small projects from initiation stage to the accomplishment stage. Throughout the process of achieving my personal derivatives I encountered various challenges but having an effective plan helped in reaching my goals step by step.
In the initiation I had to examine each one of the three projects to determine whether they were worth to pursue. Such a move assisted in determining the potential benefit that every task would bring when it is accomplished. During the planning phase I had focus on the cost of every task and the changes that were likely to occur. The plan did not only cover the budget but also the cost and schedule among other factors involving the project. I had to consider the key objectives and the people who were likely to be involved in all the three achievements. The milestones that were to be achieved in the project have to be clear and well organized to align with the plan. Also, the project and the activities had to be detailed so that they can incorporate all the aspects of project planning. For the project to be successful the costs need to be projected to avoid the failure of the project (Tuttle, 2018). I had to consider colleges that were cheap so that I can pursue different programs related to the human resource management course. Also, when it came time to start a family I had to look for a partner who we were compatible and who could bear with y tight schedule. We agreed that we would finish our studies first before we could begin having children. Additionally, my partner and I agreed on the number of children we should have and when to have them.
Achieving a career growth immediately after completing college education is not an easy task. It requires passion, dedication and commitment to every task you engage in. Therefore, I had to outline my responsibilities clearly and ensure that the available time was utilized optimally. I had to work in teams of other students in schools and also collaborate with my workmates so that I could settle easily at the workplace. By understanding my role in various tasks and executing effective goals and objectives I achieved positive progress. The progress was stable and predictable and this was enhanced by the good project plan. I realized the most important part of project management was time management. Time management is critical on both individual and team scale in project management (Calder, 2017). Effective management was necessary to ensure that every tasked was properly organized and worked efficiently towards the achievement of the laid out goals.
The three achievements were practical because the plan was controlled and performance followed. I had to compare the progress of my project y comparing what I had designed at the beginning of the project and what I had already accomplished after every year. Sometimes due to unavoidable internal and external pressures I had to make adjustments to make sure that the budgets and schedules are aligned to accelerate the project development. Sometimes, it is also possible to experience major issues and errors which need to be rectified to achieve all the target activities. Checking of the project performance and controlling the aspects is crucial in ensuring that the cost of the project remains within the target budget (Springer, 2016). I had to ensure that some of the tasks such as career development were not behind the schedule so that an appropriate corrective action was taken. It is important for the project leader to make effective decision to ensure that everything is maintained within the plan.
As my project neared completion I had to ensure that the goals were revisited and approvals made. I had to ensure any additional work in the three achievements was catered to facilitate their sustainability. Although the closing of each one of the project marked the start of the other, the expected milestones were achieved. Proverbs 16:3 (NIV), “Commit to the Lord whatever you do, and he will establish your plans.” The Bible is clear that project planning is imperative as it helps in coming up with a scheme of achieving the set goals and objectives in life.
