Saturated fats are those without a double bond, meaning all the carbon atoms are heavily saturated with the hydrogen atoms, and they always solid at room temperature. Saturated fats are subject to a great deal of controversy. This is because most of the nutrition experts and health experts haven’t agreed on how saturated fats affect human health. Also, some Scientist has called people not to ditch saturated fats since fats found in substance like fatty meats, cheeses and butter do contain vital nutrients and vitamins which are essential for human growth and development. Ditching them will do more harm than good. Besides the crucial nutrients and vitamins, this article also claims that high intake of saturated fat is linked with heart diseases however this lacks experimental evidence since saturated fatty substances like butter have unique health benefits to man including building of cell membranes, source of energy, muscle movement and blood clotting (Matthew Thorpe, 2018). Furthermore, the liver adjusts the amount of fat it produces depending on the amount of fat intake from the diet. When one takes high amounts of fats, the liver will produce less.
