The Evangelism
From time immemorial, the church, in a broader capacity, has had very many advanced transformations, documented in free books, scrolls, art, and digital platforms. The world has witnessed changing trends in church management and has helped to enforce peaceful measures smoothly. This paper presents Evangelism as a way of the church, exposing how events (in particular gender roles) between men and women have transpired over the years.
Religion, extensive as it is, is very complex to understand in one sitting. The Word of God has been debated from time to time, which has led denominations to pursue different routes. The Evangelistic view of the word stresses to have faith in God. Man is seen as the messenger of the word who shares it with the family, and the woman’s role is to provide support (Bishop, 2019). The headship is strictly aligned with biblical teachings that man should lead the household and the woman submit. In the traditional model, moral standards of behaving are strongly uplifted. Authority of making decisions, leading the house, and being the sole breadwinner is bestowed upon the man. During the church services, masses are conducted by the domineering male, and women are subdued to follow through. Women are taught to be loyal to their husbands and to hold their families together as these are the requirements of God. Evangelism centers in biblical guidelines, the redemption of Christ, and having a faith which forms the core principles of this community. For women, committing to marriage duties and rearing children depicts faithfulness to the word. Evangelists are required to be “born again,” a principle that separates them from the rest of the world. Evangelisms describes man’s authority over the woman, a position in which both believe is God-given. Wives “Godliness” is entrusted to responsibility and performing household chores (Bishop, 2019). Such acts have recently brought opposition leading to the formation of feminist groups, a factor of global consideration.
Through egalitarianism, it now evident that changing trends in Evangelism are valid (Bishop, 2019). Men and women are no longer living the traditional practices but are instead considering new measures, like respecting one another and sharing responsibility. Complementing one another now forms the basis of healthy relationships as opposed to the traditional instituted biblical divines. It is through complements that pastor women in Evangelism are supported to spread the gospel in foreign work of missionaries regardless of being curtailed to do the same in their home countries. Besides, female staff workers are now leaders in bible studies, church fundraisers, and inspiration. The significant contribution of women to the church raises questions of how to address the biblically defined roles. Complementing and egalitarianism have helped to shape the roles and capacities of both genders. However, change has not impacted Evangelism much, as women are still barred from top leadership roles but are instead encouraged to support through helper roles.
In conclusion, through new biblical ideologies, men and women have begun to see each other as equals despite the wide gap set forth by traditions, unpracticed biblical teachings, and strict church laws. New teachings of the word are incorporated into biblical studies; for example, in egalitarianism emphasizes that there are no specific roles stipulated for males nor females.
