OSHA Analysis
In the period between November 2018 and April 2019, more than six Amazon workers have been reported dead in the company warehouses. Such an incident is the 48yr old Billy fosters, who died of a heart attack according to one of his co-workers; Billy had lain on the floor for over 20minutes before he received the company’s internal safety treatment. However, the company said that its worker’s collapse happens within minutes (Roelofs & Wegman, 2014). The company allegations were refuted since most workers argue that the radio callouts of 91 were done after Bill was on the floor. Various workers certified that the company amnesty worker started the CPR after finding Bill: Amnesty workers in Amazon are those who monitor warehouses floors and reset all robots unite.
OSHA conducted investigations in regards to the company working conditions, and the studies stated that the company working conditions of their warehouses created high levels of workers’ physical injuries, and the company intentionally had disregarded their employees (Ko & Gray, 2010). This series of workplace fatalities led to the inclusion of the company on the National Council for occupational safety and health 2019 list of most dangerous employees in the States due to the death toll since 2013. I agree with OSHA findings and citations since it was the company’s responsibility to provide for the workers an environmentally friendly working place for them where there are no risks of any injuries. Working as a manager in one of the companies’ warehouses, I would make sure to listen to all the complainant of the workers. Any information that may indicate any hazards in the warehouse, I would report it to the higher authority and also inspect after obtaining the correct data from the workers. Workers’ safety will be my priority, so inspection of communication methods that are responsible for quickly responding to the employee will be a must. Identification of any problems found on various corresponding actions will be noted, and lastly, make sure that all Responses are adequate and satisfactory for all workers..
