Poverty is the state of having inadequate income to take care of basic needs like medication, foods and housing. If one grows in poverty, there are fewer chances of developing to be well adjusted, healthy and contributing positively to wards that society. Increases insecurity in the society could be witnessed in areas with many idle and poor individual. They are always free and can think of involving themselves in crime or activities like theft to raise funds.
Poverty Causes an increase in substance abuse since mostly the poor want to live in a stress-free life; they take drugs and alcohol so that they stay without proper judgments.
Negatively affect society economically, like many people in society are not paying for revenues and taxes due to their situation of being problems. This makes the state’s economy to keep decreasing instead of growing (World News On Poverty,2019). Environmental impact, such as involvement in activities like illegal logging, charcoal burning to raise some funds to cater for their basic needs. This might sound bad to us, but to the poor, they know as the only way to raise funds and make a living.
How to mitigate poverty
Creation of campaigns and awareness on poverty will make many people recognize poverty as a social problem; this will make them focus on eradicating of poverty and fighting for a better and healthy society to live (World News On Poverty,2019).
Offering universal health care to the poor, will help them to realize their importance to society and might think of changing their lives after being put under rehabilitation centres.
Allocation of the resources and jobs appropriately to all in the society makes the poor also have the support and improve their living status.
Closing the social class’s gap that could that exists in the society, and the rich and wealthier should try to show the poor that they are able and can make it in life. This could increase peaceful interaction in society.
