PART- A

What Kind of Citizen am I?

 

All over the world, citizens belong to a specific community or country. Every citizen is entitled to duties and rights, which they have to observe through their lifetime.

These three categories of citizens

 

1. a)     Personal Responsible Citizen-

 

Such category has citizens who mostly consider participating in community development and has a responsibility in the whole society.

1. b)     Participatory Citizen

The individual belonging to this category tend to have a social life and civic community participation at the national and local level, having a sense of respect to both state and citizens.

1. c)     Justice-Oriented Citizen-

This group of people is all informed on the society ethical problems and acts like individuals who are citizen-oriented them rely focus on how they can solve a problem in society.

I have gone through the article; I have analyzed myself and discovered that I belong to participatory citizenship. This group focuses on the participation and the relationship in the community towards the enhancement of community development in daily activities. Being a participatory citizens I have on many occasion participated in communal activates that are mostly concerned with bring unity and empowerment of the relationships in the citizens and the countries, this will basically help in combing up with strategies creating ways of redefining the already existing behaviors of the community as it changes the people common perception of the poor and the marginalized people in the society. As a participatory citizen, I have in many times participated in creating awareness on the community on the benefits of being conversant with our constitution as this would give the freedom that will open ways for citizens inclusion, integration of citizen participatory in community development and all programs in the development of the community. I have been a participatory citizen because I have been aware of democratic participation.

I have considered an issue that supports government processes voting. It is a privilege to be such kind of citizen as this is associated with the right to have a citizen’s freedom and making everyone feels belonging to the community. Everyone has the right to be participating in government initiatives with a minimum restriction of the underprivileged and needy in society.

Citizens participatory is associated with identity-based groups including social status, culture economic and age group religions well as migration status in the ethnic group.it is very important to note that there is need of coming up with opportunities to empower the community members and enhance the participation of the citizens as this may result in many people getting involved in the democratic issues. This makes the citizens allowed to participate in diverse matter affects the community.

Such movements can even make ways for implementation of some issue like, good participation and events associated with reconstructing the relationship among the citizens and the state and then there is likely hood of having state inclusion meaning there is a likelihood of making every member of the community feel a sense of belonging. An example is those citizens who dedicate their time to empower the underprivileged and the less fortunate in the society, like the poor and sick in the community. Participating in activities and programs that help in making the sick and poor in the organization feel the sense of belonging in the organization will result in a healthy community.

As a participatory citizen, I have voluntarily joined the fellow community members in fighting against, the discrimination and teaching on the effects of drug and substance abuse in the society. Through such results, I have transformed many youths and even married couples to quit taking drugs and substances.I have also organized some forums and seminars to teach the community members on methods of eradicating poverty in the community. Poverty has been a social problem in society, and it has been my pleasure to prepare and facilitate this issue, and through social action we have been able to solve this issue, and my community members developed many strategies, we managed to get some youth and women empowerment funds which made the society members venture in small business which could make them improve their living status. Another democratic activity that I have participated in is empowering the girl child towards getting the proper education. Since most of the community members do not value educating the girl child, has raised the alarm on the benefits of giving the girls the proper training will make them get chances to work in higher offices, participate in leadership roles and live according to the expected standards of their male counterparts.

 

PART – B

 

People with characteristics of good citizens lead to higher impact in society; this makes them be genuinely ideal citizens. An ideas citizen does not focus on empowering single group or specific individuals in the nation; they do it collectively since they understand that every person in the community is essential and has the rights and freedom to get best services.

It is essential to have a sense of valuing socialization, as it paves ways for community participation, and interaction among the community members as an aspect of improving the social life. It involves some programs like coming up with community-based organizations, community initiatives aimed at social empowerment as it gives the ideal citizen the ability to interact freely in the society with one another and fosters unity among the members of the community. For example joining and participation in community based women empowerment organizations could change the life of the community members.

 

Communal decision making is a very important aspect of the ideal community. Making community a priority when making decision helps in making everyone in the community idea respected and listened to ,evaluated and analyzed by every member of the community and if need be adjusted to meet  Every ones need as this could shape way for making the community have bright future and Cleary targeting to improve the peoples life. For instance, ideal citizens can participate in contributing ideas towards making the community members understand the importance of having a communally based decision on an issue affecting society like resource misuse. Deciding on a community will make the citizens and the residents of the areas where the mineral is situated in having an agreement on how to use the resource sustainably to make sure that it is not exploited.
