Figure 2: 144 most populous counties equal half the United States Population

Figure 1: Population of the United States
Question two:
Figure 1 above shows the distribution of the population in the United States. It can be seen that the United States geography of the population shows a clustered pattern. This is witnessed in the large cities that are interspersed with highly sparsely settled zones. The western part of the United States, for instance, is characterized by fewer people per square kilometer, which makes it the least populated area compared to the easier part of the US. This is because most of these regions are regarded as interior regions, but metropolitan areas such as Los Angeles can be seen to be having a dense population. This means most people prefer staying in urban regions rather than stay in the rural areas of the United States.
It is notable that there is a higher population level in the eastern part of the United States between Washington, DC, and Boston. In fact, Megalopolis is the area that stretches from Boston to Washington. It is also an event that southern black is more concentrated in urban areas, which is a result of the 1900 mass movement by many blacks from the south rural to urban North as well as West.
It is surprising from figure 2 those 144 most populated counties in the country form half the entire country’s population. This shows how scattered the country’s population is as the populated countries are spread dispersedly across the United States, with the majority being on the extreme west around Los Angeles and San Francisco. The same can be seen with the extreme western part, such as New York and the rest.
