Elimination
Elimination is the act of one’s body to get rid of substances that usually accumulate to toxic levels in the body. They adversely impact their health like indigestible and undigested foods and excess water. In human beings, some of the organizations that are used in the elimination of useful materials from the human body are lung, liver, kidney, and lymph. Elimination complexities have an immense effect on the lives of patients and their families. One of the adverse impacts of elimination complexities is that of defects in lung elimination. This results in the accumulation of carbon dioxide, which is a harmful gas that can increase blood pH hence impairing body tissues from getting enough oxygen and nutrients; this leads to suffocation and breathing problems. Defects in the liver also cause elimination complexity. This entails allowing different toxic substances such as urea and creatinine, to accumulate in the body, such as substance in the blood, making it toxic to body cells. The mentioned forms of elimination complexities adversely impact the health and life of a patient. Despite they take place in isolation or together since the patient will not be able to do activities previously well-tolerated without help due to the condition study resulting from these elimination complexities.
Persons with elimination complexities, for instance, inability to pass urine, thus swollen abdomen or derangements in Liver elimination, causing jaundice and weight loss develop a sense of worthlessness. Such people become very depressed, and even some may end up committing suicide. Elimination complexities can affect the family adversely and in several ways. Paying hospital bills cripples the family financially. The emotions of the family are affected by the eliminations complexities. Happiness cannot be part of the family when one of its members is ill. Family can fall into depression when one of there is affected with elimination complexities and become very hard to cope up with stress. Nurses play a primary role in caring for patients for such patients and their families psychologically and emotionally, which is education. They educate the family and patients on their condition and its best management practices and hoe they will effectively cope with it despite the patient elimination complexities. For example, a patient suffering from chronic kidney disease, nurses will offer counseling and suggest management practices like kidney dialysis to prolong the life of the patients.
