The most interesting factor regarding group cohesion in the article is the interaction between leadership reactions. The researchers argued that leaders were effective in structuring the conduct of employees, but the emotional attachment was low. However, cohesion levels can reduce when leaders focus on improving employee conduct rather than facilitating unity in the work context (Tucker et al., 2019). The factor was interesting because it reflects the connection between relationships and managerial responses in the organizational environment. Besides, the element depicts the significance of enhancing connections between employees to strengthen cohesion. Emotional sharing is vital in improving workers’ relationships.
A group leader has a significant impact on the cohesion between members. Most of the leadership roles have a positive effect on interactions in the organizational context. Leaders are responsible for facilitating teamwork activities by encouraging members of the significance of exchanging ideas. Besides, leaders are liable for solving conflicts that arise when implementing projects and performing organizational tasks. The leadership responsibility for decreasing conflicts in essential in enhancing cohesion (Burnes & Ross, 2010). Leaders are accountable for managing teams by establishing goals and monitoring performance. The leadership role is vital in developing standard objectives in groups that improve cohesion. Besides, group members can assist their peers who exhibit low performance.
I can utilize the findings of the study in my future work in groups. The results depict that there is a significant relationship between cohesion and leadership behaviors (Tucker et al., 2019). Therefore, I will ensure that my conduct as a leader influences interaction processes in my future workplace. For instance, I will act as a role model in the organizational context by engaging in teams to ensure that employees follow suit. Secondly, I will encourage workers to work in teams to increase interaction levels.
