Spatial cognition is a popular topic of research in psychology; the main is because the space around us is connected to our perception and action. In the past, there has been extensive research studying the spatial cognitive development of young children aged below six years. The results of the study can be referred to as indicative of the behavior when facing this type of challenge every day. It has been argued that with keenness and sensitivity of contrast, different aspects of functioning have been noticed to develop over the first 12 months of life (McKenzie & Day, 2013).
