Film Woochi review
Korea has developed over the years, just like other nations. Post-modern Korea has had a lot of influence on the current state of contemporary Korea. Korean history and evolution have played a significant role in modern political and economic life, sovereignty, and national identity, as aforementioned. National cohesion, for instance, is a crucial characteristic of contemporary Korea. National cohesion has been a strong pillar of Korea since centuries ago despite the hardships the country has had to endure over time. Korea has stood the test of time and remained a unified nation despite being compromised by Japan and China, who are its neighbors, and colonization. The culture of Korea and the structure of its state have seen Korea maintain solidarity.
Looking at the Film Woochi, we see that the movie director still upholds the aspect of working together to achieve the best interest of the world. Some people like Hwadam can be selfish and only think of their interests while bringing the welfare of the majority to a fiasco. However, when working together, such people are put to justice and the benefit of many wins. Hwadam was brought to justice at last when Woochi, In-Kyung, and Choragyi, and the three Taoist wizards work together. Personal interest is also condemned in the film Karujigi where men who came in to help the widowed wife died from the curse of her deceased husband. Only one man that had pure intentions of helping succeeded in burying the body of the husband. In the film Pyon Hacto, the magistrate ends up in prison for imprisoning ChunHyang for selfish reasons.
To me, these films mean that acting out of the best interests for all the parties involved is the best thing that ends up with a reward at last. However, when one works with selfish reasons, their joy is short-lived since the true intentions will eventually show up, and one will end up in trouble at the end of the day.
