Summary
The new central business district is at the center of Al Suwwah, next to Abu Dhabi and Al Reem. The new primary business is now the center of the skyline profile. It is has become a meeting place for all conference meetings and office workspace. From this study, it has been found that Al Suwwah island has expanded. It has then lead to the creation of a facility that will make the pedestrians more comfortable when accessing it.
Potential opportunities and challenges
The development of the new office workspace has enhanced equal distribution in Al Suwwah, Al Mina, Al Reem, and the existing central business district. There have been arising of some canals which have cut Al-Mina into several pieces and connecting it directly to water. This has also influenced growth of the residential area, which is an advantage to the communities. Compared to Al Suwwah, Al Reem, and Al Mina have a lower density of residence living here. The framework is structured in a way that there are about ten bridges that link between the islands, Al Suwwah, Al Reem, and the city. This interconnection of cities will thus influence in reducing congestion since the interconnection network is dispersed.
Reflection
From this case study, it is evident that land use has been used significantly to curb the issue of traffic, which has helped in boosting the national identity and security at large. Development of heavy industries in areas close to their transportation hub, which is a convenient way of land use and preservation of the land. Land use and development based on a framework of connected cities, office workspace, and public places will lead to the creation of an accessible, manageable, and hospitable environment.
