Kealakekua Bay Best of the Big Island

 The objective is to visit the historic location of Hawaiian with excellent scenery features. Kealakekua Bay offers a wide variety of activities for the tourist; activities conserved by the Kealakekua Bay include snorkeling and scuba diving to view the beautiful crystal-clear waters with corals and exotic schools of tropical fish. The field excursion will be a three-day visit with hiking activities planned as the first activities to take a tour. From shore to shore, the bay shows the beautiful volcanic mountains snaking deep into the land. Visit in the humid lava tubes required protection; hence appropriate light source and precautions for the trip were considered.

The natural beauty of the sea cliffs on the southern end explored using a car but the northern end would require hiking, we offer best hikes in exploring the big Hawaiian island. The guest carried a pair of sturdy boots for the walk with lots of water (Wei &Lee,2017). The heat usually dehydrates due to the coastal weather and direct sunlight on the way to the trailhead. Captain cook memorial requires a hike to penetrate the dense foliage and cover the tens of miles to reach the historical site. Tourists mostly explore captain Cook memorial as it is linked with traditional Hawaiian religion. The region is connected to the pathway of the god and offer a strenuous hike to explore the history thousand of years of history of Kealakekua Bay.

After the hike, the trailhead ends at Manini Beach, and this place offers an excellent place to check the ancient ruins of temples traditionally used to offer human sacrifice. Its believed that Captain Cook performed burial rites for dead crewmembers. Finally, the day will end after we reach the plaque where the captain cook fell to his death. The big island hike shows the volcanoes, and the tourist saw the effects of the eruption through the formation of a dark sand beach. The essentials gears for the trek included a map, extra food, and excess water. Warm clothing recommended due to the heat in Hawaii Volcanoes National Park for the summit climb.

Day two of the excursion, we visited a remote location to access the marine underwater state park offering snookering and sky diving. Kealakekua bay offers good scenery location for the exploitation of marine life in the water. The towering height of Kealakekua bay is approximately 100-foot lava cliff, which experiences a gentle breeze offering excellent conditions for snorkeling throughout the year (Gates,2018). The bay rated as the number one best place for snorkeling in the Indo-pacific hosts’ unique marine life only found in Hawaii. Use of Kayak for individual exploration is available, but the most preferred mode of transport was the use of luxurious snorkel cruise vessels available for hire in Kealakekua Bay.

Snorkeling activities offer exploration of the rocky mounds formed in the sea by marine life through the accumulation of calcium carbonate deposit, building a structural foundation of the vibrant marine ecosystem. Unique species like butterflyfish, angelfish, and lizardfish spotted in the coral reefs. The reefs in Kealakekua bay cover over 100sp km; the bay forms a specialized habitat for numerous plants and animals. Reef formation in Hawaii’s big island is due to the high light levels and moderate wave action favoring the growth of most beautiful coral reefs depicting corals of diverse colors and different shapes.

Deep-sea diving enables the exploration of the deep kelp forest deep in the oceanic waters. Scuba diving gears were provided for each to explore the magic of the sea and its formations underwater. Large seaweeds form the kelp plants, which are a group of algae that intertwine and grow due to photosynthesis in the water and runs deep. Exploration of the coral reefs, we used the Fair Wind Snorkel Cruise to enjoy the research. Snorkel cruise provides restrooms, exotic food, and drinks with the famous traditional Kona coffee provide to offer the tourists unique travel and exploration experience.  Tourists requested for Kayak, and they rented three personal kayaks.

The third day on our calendar was used for dolphin and turtle spotting and move to explore the cultures and festivities of the Kealakekua (Doughty,2019). The third day still involved snorkeling, correctly swimming with the dolphins. The tourist will be treated to early morning swim with the dolphins and enjoy a fantastic experience at the big islands of Hawaii. They will travel using the cruise to the natural dolphin environment. As the guide, I recommended actions expected from the tourist towards treating the dolphins with the utmost respect while respecting the entire marine ecosystem.

With the help of ocean certified guards, the tourist was in for an adventure, and they shared the protocols to be followed by the visitors before snorkeling with the dolphins. The services limited with few dolphins citing and many tourists who want to swim with the dolphins. The tourists later returned to the black sand beach for turtle spotting and acknowledged the trip a success. The time of the excursion was around November for the Kona coffee festival, which is a celebrated heritage for the Hawaiian people. Major activities during the festival included art strolls, recipe competitions, and coffee tasting (Trauernicht,2019).

Therefore, we ended the trip on the third day with the tourist having showcased satisfaction with Kealakekua Bay and the scenery surrounding the big island of Hawaii. The historical sites and natural landscapes were adventurous and created a meaningful experience for the tourist.
