Backlash is one of the diversities that are related to the culture. This is a well-established phenomenon that is characterized by behaviors, thoughts, and feelings that undermines the success of diversity in organizations, hindering change initiatives in recruiting or retaining the personnel that is diverse. Though backlash, resentments can really grow in an organization. There are various cultural groups that are impacted by the backlash diversity. This paper will look into the backlash diversity and how it affects various groups in an organization culture.

The cultural groups that are impacted by backlash diversity are ethnicity, race gender, other ideologies, age sexual orientation, physical ability just to mention but a few. It brings cultural dilemma and environment that is not conducive to work under. When diversity is hindered, then there is poor performance, lack of satisfaction, and poor financial performance in an organization. Therefore, backlash does not respect that individual are unique with their own differences. All these social groups are treated with respect and their diversity is recognized. These are some of the privileges that these groups possess. There is also substantial equality among all the groups. This means that the people from all the groups are treated equally regardless of the happenings. All are taken to possess the same entitlements and rights..

However, members of these groups are either aware or not aware of their power and privileges. For instance, people are not aware of their privileges and power because they are already immersed in it. In the world, personal power do relate directly to the level of privilege. These privileges are rooted in the cultural power and a single individual may not be having the control of it.  Thus members in the groups’ fail to recognize the powers and privileges that they should enjoy. Those others who know their powers, they are not limited to class or the race. More so, they do not accept to be treated in unfair manner since they know their privileges. This is to say that people who know their powers will not allow the backlash diversity to hinder them from enjoying their rights and privileges.

Prejudice is the feeling thoughts and believes towards a person or a group. It is a prejudgment that is not based on experience. Discrimination is those actions that are done toward a certain group of people. People are discriminated according to age, health religion and other indicators. Alaw can be enacted to abolish discrimination from our cultures. Discrimination can either be covert or ever. Overt discrimination is the action of treating a person unequally based on laid procedures. Covert discrimination acts in passive methods.

Prejudice and discrimination, affect various cultural groups in accessing such privileges like education, goods and services, positions of power, and the other social structures. Some groups that are more powerful than others have greater privileges in accessing opportunities than the groups that are less powerful. The reason being, in unequal social system, there is treatment that is unfair which is directed to various groups. For example there could be wage discrimination against some genders where one gender may be paid better than the other. Someraces may also be denied to access education in some places where others are allowed. This is a kind of prejudice and discrimination that is directed to certain cultural groups where some groups ends up having an advantage of accessing some privileges than the others. This discrimination happens due to diversity backlash by failing to respect people on the basis of their differences.

In summary I can say that diversity backlash draws the society backward for not respecting people according to their respective groups. People do not choose to belong to certain groups because no one choses where or when to be born. Thus equal opportunities, power and privileges should be made accessible to every group without discrimination or prejudice. Diversity is unique and allows different groups from different cultures to work together for the wellbeing of an organization. Thus when all these cultural groups are respected and treated without biasness, there will always be harmony which will result in goodperformance of the organization.Therefore, diversity backlash should be discouraged inall terms possible.
