Freedom and Equality

The aspect of equality refers to the sameness associated with power, degree, quality, and status.  Freedom refers to the ability of an individual to act and think without being limited. In the United States, the aspect of equality is an American value tied to the constitution and the provisions of the constitution.  It entails the unity of all the American people in expressing their views with a similar voice and authority. The aspect of freedom in the united states refers to the ability of the citizens to make decisions without coercion or constraint in choice. The factors of freedom and equality in the United States cover a broad spectrum. They are associated with the elements of economic ability, political power, standards of living, religious beliefs, and socioeconomic status.  According to the United States, freedom and equality are fundamental in enabling all the inhabitants of the united states to achieve the American dream, a factor of success and prosperity and success facilitated by upward mobility for all the inhabitants of the united states.

According to the constitution of the united states, the first amendment represents the factor of freedom. The amendment provides various privileges to the citizens, including the freedom of religion, freedom of speech, freedom of the press, freedom of peaceful assembly, and the freedom to petition the government for a redress of grievances. Through the fourteenth amendment, the constitution indicates that the state shall provide all the citizens equal protection pf the law.

The definitions of freedom and equality, both in theory and in the constitution, are inconsistent with the United States from its founding to current existence. The United States is considered among the major countries in the international system that have experienced inequality and the constraint of freedom. Through its f0unding up to its current existence, the race factor has led to the lack of freedom and equality. The founding of the country was based on the displacement and extinction of original inhabitants, including the red Indians and other tribes. Also, following the creation of the state, there was the existence of extensive slavery, especially of African Americans. Freedoms including the right to vote were denied to classes of citizens in the country, including women, until a later stage.

The history of freedom and equality has changed in the history of the United States over time.  Although the country is yet to achieve a complete spectrum of freedom and equality, various amendments have been made to create improvements in the subjects. While in its founding, the aspect of freedom only applied to the white population and slavery was highly practiced, the country has experienced the abolishing of slavery to facilitate the freedom of all the members living in the united states.  The subject of gender inequality, at the time of independence of the country, was highly significant. The women were denied various rights, including the right to vote and equal rights in the workplace.  Over the years, there have been increased equality experienced in the country. The women were granted the right to participate in political activities ion the year 1920. Also, there has been increased women equality in the workplace.

Although there has been an improvement in the subjects of freedom and equality in the united states. The issue of racial profiling is still significant. Although the constitution express that all the citizens and people in the United States should enjoy similar freedom and equality, the minority populations in the country, including the African American and the Hispanics, still face unfair treatment from social institutions. The perceived inequality is viewed with regard to the fact that the minority populations are, in most cases, unjustly profiled and regarded for criminal activities with regards to their white counterparts. Also, the nm[minority populations face increased difficulty concerning the access to social services including education and health services, in addition to getting employment opportunities,
