assessment on a patient

I carried out an assessment on a patient, Tina Jones, to find out what she was suffering from. The diagnostic results of the evaluation were two diseases, diabetes mellitus, and asthma. Diabetes mellitus is a disease caused by the production of insufficient insulin in the body. The inadequate production of insulin results in higher glucose production in the bloodstream of the victim, which is referred to as hyperglycemia. Diabetes causes significant damage to most of the organs in the body. Asthma is a condition whereby the airways produce extra mucus, swell, or narrow. As a result, breathing becomes difficult for the patient. The intensity of the problem varies with every individual. For some people it is minor as for pothers it is a big problem. This paper is to discuss the process of diagnosis of these diseases and the possible treatments.

Diabetes

To diagnose a disease, it is essential to go into details such as symptoms and the family history of the patient. For many years doctors diagnosed diabetes by dipping their finger in the urine of the patient and tasting it for sugar levels. This method of diagnosis was weird. Today, the test that is commonly used is the HbA1c diagnosis method. This diagnosis method works by testing a part of the red blood cells. Type 1 diabetes indications regularly proliferate, here and there over a little while. They will, in general, be increasingly dangerous. Type 2 diabetes indications are typically milder and grow progressively. These manifestations are brought about by the impact of diabetes on the body. My patient had symptoms such as; tiredness, frequent need to urinate, and loss of appetite.  I had to carry out a blood sugar test to know if the suspected disease was diabetes mellitus. To carry out my diagnosis, I took a blood sample and carried out an analysis of the blood sugar levels. There were a variety of tests I could do, but since the patient had no further illnesses and was not a child, it was a safe diagnostic method to use.

Asthma

The patient must learn how to take care of themselves during this time. Asthma management education is essential for asthma patients and family members. It is impossible to cure asthma. Its symptoms on the other side can be controlled through some medical means. It is essential to work closely with the patient and monitor their progress as asthma changes with time. There are different types of asthma; exercise-induced asthma, allergy asthma, and occupational asthma. Environmental conditions and genetic usually cause asthma. Mostly the disease runs in the family.

The patient complained about shortness of breath, chest tightness, and whistling sound when breathing. Coupled with some cases of asthma in the family, there was a chance she had asthma besides diabetes mellitus. The symptoms added to the family history of asthma pointed out to asthma. An asthmatic person needs to stay away from chemicals and ensure they have their inhalers in place for any emergency. I put my patient on an action plan to keep asthma at bay. This is a couple of medications and proper management to prevent asthma attacks. Asthma is a condition that needs constant supervision and a treatment plan. Vaccination is also essential to avoid any occurrence of flu that can trigger asthma.
