Switzerland is a small Alpine nation that has a culture that is highly influenced the neighboring countries. It is evident as the major languages are French, Italian, and German, with the other being the Switzerland Romansh. It also comprises of 26 cantons with different customs and traditions each. Being one of the wealthiest countries in the world, a large part of its population is in the middle class. The nation’s most affluent people own almost 80% of the private assets. During social interactions, individuals respect privacy and behave politely. They don’t have a state religion, but the majority are Christian. However, adherence to church is steadily declining. With excellent swiss cuisine made from traditional simple ingredients makes it a beautiful place.

Switzerland is a banking and financial center, having a diverse and developed banking landscape. Making it a right place for business students cause it’s a center of local and international financial services. Having Geneva and Zurich included to the list of Economics & Commerce Data (ECD). It has most of the leading political and diplomatic organizations which are beneficial for a business student. The institutes here also offer education in English as it’s an influential language in academia. It has a multicultural environment.

It has 26 cantons which have their own culture and traditions, that range from food, clothes, music, literature and art, sports and cultural artifacts.  Being among the richest nations in the world, it has 80% of its private assets owned by 20% of the richest persons in the country. Traditionally its society clearly defines men and women as it has been patriarchal, however with time, its ids gradually disappearing. Empowerment of women and education is not at par but has seen an improvement. Switzerland has a culture that respects their privacy and usually behaves politely among themselves. They also have other things that they value as the national costume, which is a dress worn by peasants as they wore in specific environs. The state has no state religion, the majority of the population being Christians; however, this has changed over time with the attendance to churches going down. The lifestyle of the swiss people is integral as they take sport participation seriously, having hosted major international events. Being in the Alpine’s, it facilitates winter sports that attract professionals and tourists worldwide.

Switzerland has a high tolerance, thrift, punctuality, sobriety sense of responsibility. The companies are structured vertically but vary from one company to the other. Here the employees have little accountability. While negotiations are taking place, patience is a requirement, while discussions are taken very cautiously, precisely, but at times they tend to be a little gloomy. The 26 cantons make the countries decisions autonomously with a cumbersome process due to rivalry. Thus, dragging the businesses and the economy lag behind. They also have a stipulated dress code in a business setting. It should be conservative and formal and fashionable.

Moving to a new country as a student mostly we expect to make new friends as fast as we get there but with swiss it not easy to make friends with them. This doesn’t mean they are not friendly or that are mean no. They tend to hold back and learn their visitors. They are biased towards foreigners who might make it challenging to get a place without a rental agency to help you settle, with such a trait from one of the best countries in the world with classy sites. It requires one to have a budget and keeping track of your expenditure as its so expensive, with most of its commodities going almost 40% higher than in other neighboring countries. It will make you feel so close to everything you would dream of seeing because it has a lot of sceneries yet so far from what matters.
