Elections:
Are Canadian elections considered democratic?
Yes, Canadian citizens have an opportunity to elect leaders of their choice through a secret ballot in a free, transparent, and fair election process. They are free to choose members federal and provincial houses of their choice, without conditions from people vying for seats in particular regions. They are free to exercise their democratic right to vote in electing members of the two houses. Before any amendments occur in the constitution, a referendum is conducted to allow citizens to decide what to be added or removed from the existing laws. (Video, 1)The liberal reforms which intend to change the election voting system must attract a referendum to allow citizens to exercise their democratic right by giving their views on election reforms. Referendum happens through a secret ballot in the entire country, where all citizens eligible to vote will exercise their voting right. It clearly shows that Canadian elections are democratic because people are allowed to choose leaders of their choice and present their views on any constitutional amendments.

What were your overall thoughts on the election results last year? Are you surprised, or was it something you expected?
The outcome of the previous election was not what I had anticipated being; everything that happened was least expected. Despite all the scandals that had been associate with liberals, Mr.Trudeau managed to remain in power as prime minister with the least efforts to secure the seat. I was surprised, and the liberals managed to take all the twenty seats in Toronto, including Davenport. They managed to govern in more than nine hundred areas, and it was a surprise occurrence. Jane, who had resigned, has cabinet member in protest of how Trudeau handled the lanavil scandal, lost her seat as an independent candidate after being fired from liberal by Trudeau. The expectation was that she would win her election with a wide range, but the unexpected happened.
Most of the famous incumbent lost big, deputy leader of conservatives lost her seat to Adam in Milton, which put to an end eleven years of ruling of Lisa as Member of Parliament. Former public safety cabinet minister Goodale lost his seat where he was a member of parliament since the early 90s. All these happened as a surprise to me I did expect to see all these occurring.
