Evaluation of the film Little(Gordon, 2019)
The film I evaluated is called Little(Gordon, 2019). The film tells a story of a successful businesswoman acted by Regina Halls as Jordan, who was mean to a lot of people around her just because she has been bullied while she was young. She had now turned out to be the bully. The movie takes a turn of events when she wakes up as her 13-year-old self acted by Marsai Martin and has to go back to school and deal with all the things she had already gone through before, but this time around, she handles them differently. The two primary characters in this film are Marsai Martin, the 13-year-old self of Jordan, and Regina Halls, the old Jordan. The former Jordan is very bossy, disrespectful, aggressive, and self-centered. The young Jordan, on the other hand, is hilarious, caring, and somehow bossy, just like her old self.Most people did not see the young self of Jordan coming back. The movie brought out the fantasy in a way that most people did not expect. The audience was also ready to see what will make Jordan go back to her old safe and how she will start handling situations after the transition that had just taken place in her life. The expectations of the audience mostly focused on Jordan’s behavior, especially when she went to school. The audience expected her to turn out to be the most execeptional bully of all times, but she turned out to care about the outcasts that were being bullied.
Time has been used to bring out a sense of the reality framework. The film brought out a sense of time by making motion possible. This film has manipulated time to bring out the fantasy in the movie. The sense of space used in the film is open. The different environments forecasted in the film makes the spaced bring out the main point that the filmmakers want the audience to see. It is not clanged in showing art movements in one are, but there are different scenes used in the film. The movie shows different types of geographical space, such as private and public space, to control the audience. The perspective of this film can be characterized by the multi-point view characterized. Space and time are the main components that helped form the perspectives that develop from the film.This film belongs to the fantasy genre. The convention of this genre mainly includes films that have imaginative and fantastic themes. The themes in this kind of cinema mostly incorporate magic or fantasy worlds. This genre of cinema does not need to be rooted in facts. This genre gives the audience permission to be transported into another new peculiar world. The other sub-genre that is in my film is high fantasy. This central film theme in this film insists so much on developed fantasy. The character development in the movie is so intense.
