One of the ways for developing stronger professional skills entails engaging in workplace duties that mandate interpersonal relationships such as participating in assignments as a team. The commitment to the tasks inculcates in individuals’ communication abilities, which is a professional requirement for career advancement in a leadership position. The leadership skills also develop through participation in group task because of the interaction that exposes an individual to people from diverse background whose approach to communication might vary. The association, in turn, instill stronger professional skills that bolster relationship at the workplace.

The second strategy for developing professional skills entails participation in extracurricular activities unrelated to the career assignment. An example can involve participation in a cleaning task at the community to improve the outlook of the environment. Other options include donating food items to the needy or sensitization of the public on the healthcare-related issue. After such a task, one acquires teamwork skills. The professional equally enhance communication skills because the tasks demand that individuals exude competence in communication (Arora and Resham 2). The tasks expose people to uncertainties that bolster self-confidence. The confidence then motivates persons to exude professionals in conduct to approve the competencies in duties.

Thirdly, the participation in a simulation exercise on problem-solving at the workplace is also beneficial in developing professional skills. In my case, I undertook a similar initiative as an intern. I guided peers in research on ways of dealing with interpersonal conflict. The action led to the mastery of communication skills necessary for resolving misunderstandings at the workplace. Courtesy of the actions, I can redress conflict amid peers at the workplace and such proves mastery of problem-solving skills as professional competence.  The experience with the tasks proved that the socialization prepares people for the uncertainties of the workplace.

Other ways for developing professional skills include participation in group activities at the workplace. Continuous practice of actions such as planning and timing self to ensure accomplishment of duties in time helps improve time management skills. The process of researching on the developments in the work environment is equally necessary for contextualizing ways of improving competence. One can opt to research ways of using a technological device in communication. The process will result in learning. The commitment to work while endearing to such task exposes individuals to diverse challenges helps sharpen skills that improve professionalism in duties.
