US policy with the Middle East

Notably, there are very many policies which affect many people in society. The US government is always focused on the welfare of the world as it acts as a superpower in the world. Therefore it has a massive responsibility in the world to maintain that the world is safe and the other nations are focusing on what is good for others and its citizens. It is very concerned with issues concerning the middle east. The Middle East has for the past many years, been affected by general issues which have been hard to despise. Therefore the US has taken all measure possible and has been advocating for a better system in those countries. Most of the middle east countries are Arab countries such as Saudi Arabia, Egypt, Syria, Palestine, Israel, Turkey and Iran. Most of these countries are oil-rich countries such as Saudi Arabia while most of the others are war-ravaged stated (Barron & Barnes, 2018). Therefore the US has taken up the role of acting as a mediator to ensure that peace prevails in the region.

Besides the political system in the middle east is hard to understand. It is, therefore, different from other nations and highly complicated. And this has led to a lot of instability in the area which has led to the interference of other nations such as the US. Civil and other countries have become very common in those countries. Therefore the US president has a huge role to play in ensuring that those countries are stable and their political system is working while ensuring that the US does not go against the international requirements. Therefore a policy brief is essential to advise a member of the cabinet for the president, especially the one involved with global issues on the US policy involving the Middle East.

First and foremost, it is crucial to note that the US government is focused on maintaining world peace. It considers this as quite essential as it has had to deal with keeping its citizens safe all over the world and also in the country. And this was mainly attributed to its home attack, popularly referred to as 9/11 (Hunter, Eddy, & Shinn, 2019). However, its policies have both strengt5hs and weaknesses which need to be analyzed.

Arguably, the USA being a capitalist nation, is well focused on access to foreign oil. It ensures that to stay as a superpower in the world, it has to take the issue of oil seriously. Therefore its foreign policy mainly emphasizes on the issue of oil, ensuring that it has maximum access to the oil (Barron & Barnes, 2018). However, this has led to a lot of political instability in those countries as they feel that the United States is only interested in the oil. Therefore the political hierarchy has highly condemned these actions of the US, and hence the citizens feel threatened by the country. And this has led to a lot of people protesting against this issue as seen by Iran which terms it as an enemy. With an increased need for petroleum products, there has being a need for the country to maintain its soldiers in those countries, a good example is Saudi Arabia and Bahrain.

Also, the foreign policy in which the US sends its troops to those countries is very delicate. And this has been manifested in the way most of the people in those countries feel that those troops should not be in those countries. And this has led to unrest among political figures which has led to notable wars with member states in the region. Notable examples are the conflicts between Israel and Palestine, other civil wars involving Yemen and Syria, and also the recently concluded Iran-Iraq war (Hunter, Eddy, & Shinn, 2019). All those countries have had economic conflicts, and they live intense times. Therefore this has led to political tensions between those countries leading to high levels of insecurity. And this has led to civil unrest in Middle East countries at all times. Most of the people feel that the presence of the United States in these countries have proved to be the reason that these nations are always at war. They feel that those army troops should find a way to get out of the country.

However, most experts claim that foreign policy in these countries has proved fundamental. And this is since if these countries are not left their affairs. Most of these countries suffer from political issues, therefore, can easily affect the oil prices, which in most cases affect the global economy. Oil prices have proved quite vital all over the world as these countries need to be limited so that they do not affect these prices (Cole, 2018). In most instances, when the prices are altered, they lead to significant issues all over the world. Therefore worldwide organizations and other countries have described the role played by the US in these countries to be quite vital. They feel that if these countries are not restricted, they can affect the world economy. They feel that it is crucial to make sure that the world is safe from economic tensions. Economic issues can affect the planning of a country, thus affecting its GDP significantly. Therefore the US need to continue implementing its policy in Middle East countries.

Additionally, the selling of oils using the dollar has proved crucial. And this is because there is a unified way of carrying out transactions, therefore, leading to fewer conflicts (Hunter, Eddy, & Shinn, 2019). If these states had a chance to use their currencies, then it would have disrupted trade and proved to be high risk. And this would have been mainly attributed to the fact that they are not in good terms with each other. Also, they would view this as a chance to gain economic prosperity. Thus, creating significant issues in the market as they would disrupt trading activities; hence other countries would get affected. Unification and use of a common currency in Oil trade as helped set a standard price for the product. Oil is vital in the global market needs to be protected, and this is what the Us government is doing.

Also, most of the middle east nations boast of having an enhanced economy. And this is mainly due to the relative peace that the US army is providing. The presence of these troops has led to an end in most of the wars and tension. Notable examples are Israel and Palestine war also Iraq-Iran war. The end of the war as helped streamline the political system of the countries after they have regained peace. It has also boosted economic activities in the region, and most of the people in the country are currently producing most of the products. When there is no peace, it is easy for the economy to collapse as people do not carry out their duties and also the government cannot focus on infrastructure.

However, after carefully analyzing the previous US policies with countries in the Middle East, it is clear that they warrant a change (Cole, 2018). And these, has been mainly attributed to the weaknesses of the policies. First and foremost, the US army must de-escalate from primary conflicts. Primarily this is crucial as the people in the country will feel that they are not affected by US policies. They will feel that the US is not interfering with their issues therefore will be in full support of its armies staying there.

In most cases politicians in the Middle East countries are forced to term the US an enemy due to public pressure. However, this is not the case as the US government is only focused on ensuring the welfare of all the people in the world. When the army interferes with the affairs of the country in which they are deployed, its citizens feel like they are getting colonized. Therefore the US must resist from this issue at all costs.

Secondly, it should partner with other member and officers in the country to ensure that it maintains peace in the region. And this is crucial because most of the people in these countries will feel included in running their country. Therefore insecurity cases will drastically decrease and therefore ensure that the region develops. Oil prices might also decrease, as they will be much cheaper (Bruzonsky, Murphy, & Wells, 2019). In most regions in the Middle East drilling of oil is mostly affected by insecurity. Transportation between the countries is also a great hindrance to the huge mistrust between the nations. Therefore the nations must take the issue seriously and find a way to carry out their activities. Consequently, this will prove to be crucial as all the countries will, therefore, enjoy the peace which will ensure they work together.

Thirdly, the US should stop pulling back most of its troops from the Middle East. And this is because these countries are still facing enormous challenges of insecurity. Although it is not a guarantee that the presence of the US military is a long-term solution to the issue of insecurity, it is still crucial to maintain that those countries are still very vulnerable to insecurity (Krieg, 2016). Therefore they need maximum protection, and the US should even add more troops to maintain peace. And this will, thus, lead to the region enjoying relative peace.

Also, they should ensure the protection of other countries who agree to cooperate and maintain peace. A good example is by promising Saudi Arabia protection if they pull out from the war in Yemen. Therefore, this policy is crucial as it will help stop war activities in the Middle East. And this will, therefore, stabilize their governments and make them work towards economic progress.

Lastly, it should work to empower political groups in those countries so that they mobilize to stabilize the nations. Political groups can help ensure a feeling of nationalism, thus making it easy for the countries to stop fighting (Bruzonsky Murphy, & Wells, 2019). Sometimes most nations get into conflicts because of petty issues and therefore, they need to be solved quickly. Civil wars happen because of minor issues; consequently, it is important to use political groups to solve the problems. Political activists in most countries play an important role in ensuring that there is peace. In most cases, the citizens want peace, but they do not know of a way to solve the issue.

Outstandingly, the research was well formulated using various steps. I first identified the problem for the research. Secondly, I understood the problem and provided enough background information for the study. Thirdly I collected data on the issue and analyzed the findings. Fourthly, I outlined the requirements of the research. Lastly, I concluded the crucial reforms that should be deployed for the current policy. I then gave my findings and recommendations on the topic. I was, therefore, ensuring that the research project is highly credible with great facts.

All in all, the peace of a region is essential as it affects the whole world. The US government has been highly criticized because of its behaviour in engaging in other countries affairs. However, what most people have failed to note is that it is a superpower which is tasked with handling global matters. Therefore it has a huge task of ensuring that these countries, especially those in the middle east, maintain peace and stability. And this is since these countries prove to be quite important internationally. Mainly because of their role as the primary source of oil and hence need to be treated well so that they do not disrupt economic activities in the world. However, security has proved hard to maintain, and they have experienced so many ways necessitating the US to send its military.

In conclusion, governments must deploy foreign policies that are not only favourable to them but also the whole world. Therefore they need to use means that they will not create more problems. The issue of favouring one party over the other in case of disagreement should be discouraged as it will lead to more problems. Therefore, the government of the USA must maintain its neutrality while dealing with these issues as it is the only way to ensure it has the world’s backing. Insecurity should be discouraged at all costs and appropriate measures used to eradicate it.
