What are the biggest challenges Norwegian experienced in trying to expand its airline across the globe?

The biggest challenge the Norwegian experienced in trying to expand its airline across the globe is competition from other airlines such as Ryanair, EasyJet and Air Berlin. This is because of the discount carrier. Secondly, the transport departments of countries such as the United States restrict Norwegian flights into the country. They fear unhealthy competition, such as unfair price wars. The Norwegian airline also faces opposition from other airlines in the United States. These airplanes urge Federal aviation until Norwegian airplane fixes their lithium batteries. Lastly, this airplane faces problems with their passengers due to the pump problems.

To what extent did you observe examples of ethnocentric, polycentric, or geocentric attitudes in this case? Provide examples to support your conclusion.

Ethnocentric attitude is a model of international recruitment. The human resource department, on the other hand, recruits the most suitable candidate for the work. It bases this on the skills and the abilities of the workers. There is an example of ethnocentric attitudes in this case. This is because the immediate employees only want the flights to be in Norway. Secondly, the staff members of the Norwegian air do not want their jobs to be at risk in other countries.

Use the table to identify cultural differences that are likely to arise between Norwegian employees working in Sweden, Thailand and Denmark. How can these differences affect interpersonal interactions? What can the company do to reduce any unintended conflicts from these interactions?

From the table below, we can identify that Sweden and Denmark have similar cultural dimensions. They are similar in gender egalitarianism and institutional collectivism. Denmark has the most significant future orientation, and Sweden lags in assertiveness. This shows that the airline will most likely perform well in Sweden and Denmark but do the exact opposite in Thailand. Thailand workers are not independent and require strict supervision and instruction to follow. A lot of money can be lost if these interactions are not monitored effectively. The company can implement policies that ensure peaceful and pleasant cultural interactions. It can also match workers to places that match with their personalities and skill set.

What are the most important lessons to be learnt about global management from this?

The most important lesson to be learnt in this case is the importance of ensuring peaceful cultural integration and interactions. Global business needs to tailor its employees to work in different cultures effectively. It is also essential to ensure diversity in comprehensive business management.
