Doing the right thing
Doing the right thing refers to how to live ethically and the strategies to make decisions that are right, moral and ethical (Shelley, 2017). The process of doing the right thing involves the use of collective wisdom of human to know how to act. Doing things right requires efficiency, effectiveness and expertise. Doing the right thing means actions which must be done (Bajčić, 2017). Doing the legal job is based on laws mandated to a specific group or organization for regulation. Steps based on the rules are not optional.
The moral is distinguished legal to have a specific guideline of making decisions. When morality is used in making decisions, the beliefs between what is right and what is wrong are used to make decisions. The use of morality is used to make decisions; freedom is promoted, stability and security and the relationships between the colleague workers are improved. While legality refers to the state of being following the law, all legal actions must be following the law (Bajčić, 2017). Judicial decisions are created and maintained by the state, they have stability, steadiness and uniformity, a coercive authority backs them, and the violation of laws results in punishment.
Accountants and financial auditors’ professionals are susceptible to pressures which may result in making decisions which are legal or moral. When accounting is based on real, sincere and neutral information, to some extent, the degree of the morality of actors involved is portrayed (Bajčić, 2017). The results of the financial statements can show whether the laws are observed and the degree of the morality of the actors in the firm.
In conclusion, the degree of compliance with accounting laws differs from one country to another. When morality and legality are allowed to be used in making decisions, productivity is increased as the people can relate aptly and at the same time, comply with the laws regulating the organization.
