Organization analysis – understanding threats and weaknesses
The term ‘Organization’ generally means an accumulation of people or a cluster of individuals who formed a group to achieve a particular objective; for example, any business organization. In the course of organizing a number of purposes are to be met like planning, administering, recording, and managing any critical situations. Here are some of the critical steps that are involved in the organization and its functioning-
- Objectifying the various activities going on in the business firm
- Classifying the events into different departments
- Assigning responsibilities to the departmental heads and to the other employees present in the firm
- One of the crucial steps is to establish rapport between the business heads and the subordinates.

Organizational weaknesses Vs. Threats to the organization
Threats are most commonly inferred as a negative influence on an organization that does not only slows down or restricts its functioning and productivity but also may result in the complete collapse of the organization (Fine, 2009). Some of the common threats that almost all organization go through are-
- The negative attitude of the employees towards the organization- the essential element for a group to be a successful organization is to share a specific goal or objective by all the members. When the personal purposes of any individual gather more priority than the shared goals, the individual gradually builds up a negative attitude towards the organization as a whole.
- Increasing attrition rate- when potential employees of any firm decision to quit and join the rival groups for whatever reason, personal or social, the production rate steeply falls of the prior organization. Whereas its productivity increase in the other situation.
- The technical glitch which results in information loss- Any organization devotes a significant amount of time in building up their risk management strategies and accumulating al the potential information from its employees. The loss of such data and information hampers the smooth functioning of the organization.
Some other issues may also be added to the list of threats that affects the organization, one of which is lack of fund for uninterrupted flow of services and input of the entire essential requirement for the business (Rauch, 2007).
On the other hand, weaknesses of an organization refer to the various shortcomings the organization withholds in itself that is restraining the organization from broadcasting its ultimate potential (Coman & Ronen, 2009). An umbrella term is formulated to accumulate all the critical aspects of an organization- SWOT, which stands for Strength, Weaknesses, Opportunities, and Threats to an organization. Some of the significant weaknesses are-
- Continued usage of outdated technologies- This defiance to adapt to newer and better technologies often collapses, and large companies are forced to break down.
- Employees and motivation- unmotivated employees and employees with differing aims are often not good for the functioning and productivity of the company.
- Rival groups- when the opposing groups of any organization start to gain more power and stretch their territory in the market, the organization must try to combat and overtake their methodologies for better outreach.
