BIBLIOGRAPHY ON PRIMATES
Annotated bibliographies, set 2: Primates. Appropriate topics include (but are not limited to) new primate species, Jane Goodall and the chimpanzees of Gombe, Dian Fossey and the gorillas of Rwanda, Birute Gildikas and the orangutans of Borneo, or any other examples of primate fieldwork. Inappropriate topics include any NON-primate animal (please, no whales, sharks, spiders, etc.), or hominins (fossil human ancestors belong in the 3rd set). This set is usually due during the time we’re working on chapters 5-8 Instructions: Find and read 5 separate articles on the appropriate topics for each section. Articles should discuss topics covered in discussions and/or the text used in the course. [unique_solution]Articles may come from newspapers, magazines (National Geographic, Scientific American, Time, etc.), websites, or other sources. Your textbook may NOT be used. Do NOT use Wikipedia as a source for academic assignments. Because it can be modified by anyone at any time, Wikipedia is not a reliable source of information. The bibliographies should be formatted using APA, MLA, or Chicago style. Make sure to have the bibliographic reference (article name, author, and other publication information) directly above each summary. There is a template in the “Assignments” module that has the appropriate format for your references. Choose the correct format for your article and plug the information into the template. A short (one-two paragraph, 10-12 sentence, roughly 250 word) synopsis of each article should follow the reference. You should NOT use direct quotes. If you can’t summarize the article in your own words, you probably don’t understand it. Make sure that you tie the article to the course material. Bibs without the publication information will receive NO points. Bibs on inappropriate topics will receive NO points. Do not write all 5 summaries, and then put all 5 references together on a separate page. It should be organized this way: reference 1, summary 1, reference 2, summary 2, etc.. The assignment is to be submitted in a single file (not 5 separate files) to the Assignment Inbox on Canvas. Because I only grade the most recent submission, if you put each article into a separate file I’ll only grade one of them.
