volunteering work at organization Z
I have been involved with volunteering work at organization Z, where I was the Sustainability Manager, where I was tasked with improving the organization’s social and environmental impact. I proposed and implemented the use of biofuels, an alternative energy, to the organization to cut back on the carbon emission that was their main challenge in complying with the environmental laws. I also doubled as a GIS consultant for organization Z, which is a non-profit conservationist organization, where I tabulated the changing extents of erosion in various rivers in a bid to check the severity of the problem. This data was used in planning and executing the restoration programs of these rivers to control the erosion.
My most notable contribution as a GIS specialist has been the tracking and accurate mapping of a cholera infection in the remote areas of Ghana. This was done in conjunction with a team of epidemiologists with the main aim of predicting the spread of the disease. This was accurately carried out and significantly contributed to the quick response of the medical team to affected areas. The data obtained helped in pinpointing the source of the infection and how it had spread. This made it easier in de-contaminating the source and preventing further spread of the infection.

My organizational skills include the proper balancing of my assigned activities, proper filing of all relevant documents, proper time management, and effective monitoring of all ongoing projects and activities. This has greatly enhanced my problem-solving skills since I can keep in touch with various issues at once and can pinpoint areas that could be problematic and provide the relevant solution
