The art in Greek began at around 900- 600 BCE during the mid-eleventh century when a new culture began to develop from the Greek mainland. It is also during this period when Athens developed a primary ceramic production; hence they started creating both sculptures and vessels decorated with organized abstract designs. Their art changed with periods, and it happens that the Greeks hade about five periods.

The third period was the archaic period when wealthy people sponsored the creation of sculptures and beautiful ceramics. The fourth period was the early classical period, and it is during this period that the beauty that has endured the Western world to date. Some of the sculptures that were created during this period were the marble sculpture, bronze sculpture, and the riace warriors. Also, during this period, wall painting and ceramic painting was prominent. The fifth period wa the high classical period, which lasted for almost half a century. It was during this time when the Akropolis of Athens was built, and other magnificent temples such as the temple of Athena Nike was built. Also, the Athenian Agora was created during this period. The late classical period was the sixth period, which included a lot of metalwork. The last period was the Hellenistic period, and this period brought about the creation of the temple of Olympian Zeus utilizing the Roman architecture.
