1. How are you and your local community connected to other people and religions and faith traditions in the world?

My local community is connected with other religions and other communities through intermarriages. My community allows one to marry from other communities with bias, Christians can be married Muslims without any restrictions being imposed on them. Religion acts as a guide for different human believes and connections to worldwide experiences.

2. What do you think makes religions a “unifying” force for the followers? What makes this possible?

Religion ensures that followers are united against the forces of outsiders. The unity is made possible by the specific rules that have been put in place, which assist in controlling operational matters. Religion ensures that followers have universal principles to guide them in religious operations. Religion has brought unity to its followers since everyone wants to be part of a unified society dictated by shared principles.

3. Why do you believe people feel compelled to create and follow religions?

People create and follow religions because of the believes they have of the existence of a supernatural being.  God is the supernatural being that people believe in, and He controls every activity and the existence of human beings. In society creating and following religions is ta trend that has taken place since time immemorial. People are only following the trend that has been in existence.

4. The letter you read reasons that harmony between the two religions is not only necessary for world peace; it is natural. Is a letter an effective method for bridging differences and recognizing similarities? Why or why not?

Yes, the letter is an effective way of appreciating the similarities that religions share while at the same time acknowledging the differences that exist in our religions. The similarities that exist in our religions is what ensures that individuals are united through religion. Similarities that exist in religions is what contributes to natural peace in the world.

5. Now that more than ten years have passed since this letter was published, do you think it made a difference since then?

Yes, although ten years have passed since the letter was written, the letter still makes a difference in ensuring religious peace. The letter ensures that understanding between the different religions. The letter eliminated the negativity that people had on other religions; people now accept the differences that exist between religions. The similarities that exist between the Muslim denomination and the Christian denomination brought the harmony that exists between the two religious’ denominations.

6. What else could be done to reduce animosity between religions?

Despite the efforts made by the letter to ensure religious peace, there is still animosity between Christians and Muslims. To bridge the differences that still exist in the two religions, one leader needs to be elected to lead the two religious’ groups. The leader will put in place common principles that will enhance unity. If a common leader is not going to lead, the two religions should hold symposiums to discuss events that will assist in understanding the different believes that they share.

7. What historical precedents exist to show that people with diverse beliefs have come to an understanding and practiced tolerance?

The historical precedents that show that people have come to a common understanding are religious pluralism and attitudes that have been established to appreciate the diversity that exists in beliefs.

8. What can you do to make the world a better place for people of all religious and non-religious belief systems?

For the world to be considered a better place, individuals need to be encouraged to concentrate on the same beliefs. Focusing on the same beliefs will ensure that the concept of religious pluralism is enhanced. Religious pluralism is a policy that ensures appreciation of religious diversity.
