R E S E A R C H P A P E R Formatting for the Research Paper Your work should reflect your ideas and opinions. Your research paper is a response: Synonyms; answer (Links to an external site.), reply (Links to an external site.), reaction (Links to an external site.), take (Links to an external site.) – Antonyms; inquiry (Links to an external site.), query (Links to an external site.), question (Links to an external site.) There is a minimum of three (3) sources, one of which may be your textbook (this is a good starting place for your projects). You must use the Chicago Style of referencing (we will go over this in class). Proper referencing is required. Please use only Courier New or Times New Roman fonts set at 12pt. Type doubled spaced. Do not play games with margins (one inch all the way around). IT WILL AFFECT YOUR GRADE. Titles: Titles of books, art works, movies, television shows, websites, etc., must be underlined or italicized. DO NOT use quotation marks for titles. Your name, the class, date, and the instructor’s name should appear in the upper LEFT hand, single-spaced, and the title of the paper should be centered two lines below. Research Paper: Research Paper: Write a minimum 8-page paper (that is 8 [eight] pages of text), it does not include the bibliography. Write about three pieces of art that you have observed in a museum or gallery within the time of the current semester you are in right now. All art must be locally visited and observed. You must collect the basic information: Location of gallery, Artist, Title of the work of art, Date of the work of ar. You must describe the art. You must use the vocabulary of Visual and Design Elements that you will be exposed to throughout the course of the semester. You must have research (you can use your textbook as one of your sources). You must include at least one quote – properly referenced You must reference paraphrased information. You must reference facts. You must include a Bibliography You must express your opinion. The artwork you write about is the subject of your paper. They are not sources! Utilizing the artwork as a source is an automatic ‘F’ and/or not following the criteria and formatting for the paper will result‘F’.
