Ophthalmology Works
According to Tom, practising as a physician is an honour while studying medicine is a calling. His greatest happiness is the realization that people can trust him with their secrets, fears, concerns and health. He chose to do ophthalmology because it was a field that fit him well while in college. Tom’s most challenging time is when he has to listen to his patient’s different problem. Worse still is when he realizes that their conditions are not curable. The problematic experiences from his patients are what push him to research on better ways to treat them. After spending almost 12 years as a professor of Ophthalmology, Tom realized that his calling was treating patients. He decided to quit lecturing and focus on building his practice. The decision to quit was obvious and natural since he had also decided to start a family at that time. His goal is to afford the best care to his patient.
