Admission Essay for College
I seek for an admission at Pepperdine University to pursue a medical course. Currently, I am a senior with good and balanced grades in all my classes. I have taken a total of nine science courses in high school. I believe that the courses are sufficient for a slot in the medical school. Attaining success in academics and one’s profession requires access to an institution for higher learning. This challenges one’s thought process and encourages him to be the best he can be in his engagements. Such is the specific reason I settled on Pepperdine as an institution of choice. I would give tons of information as being the reason for choosing Pepperdine, but I’ll be precise. On looking up the institution on the internet, two values regarding it touched me, its emphasis on Christian leadership and research (Pepperdine, 2019). Leadership is an impeccable virtue of life as it touches on almost all aspects of an individual. Therefore, I have great interested in gaining impeccable leadership skills which will enable me to be a positive influence on others. I believe that such skills will set me apart from the rest in the ever increasingly competitive world. Furthermore, research is mainly essential in any discipline. The fact that the institution focuses on research means that it will be of great value to me.
I am more science-oriented. It is the reason I wish to venture into the medical field. Research skills are, therefore, pertinent in the area as they will contribute heavily to making me more aware of new trends that occur in it and how to leverage them. Furthermore, I have always prided in having a serene environment to learn in. Such an environment evokes the creative person in me and enables me to be better at critical thinking. Having been homeschooled in high school, I have become keener on the environment in which a learning institution offers me. I believe that a calm institution enables me to see the value that lies among those who are around me. It also allows me to focus more on academics and seek to perform well in the various courses I take.
Thus, Pepperdine serves the pertinent recipe, which is specifically suited for my personality. The serenity which the institution offers is widely appealing and is bound to bring out my personal competencies. I believe that it will give me the calmness to concentrate more on the various classes which I will take. Furthermore, the concentration will be most appropriate in enabling me to focus more on my immediate and future dreams. I believe that the situation will allow me to continually seek to be outstanding in the specific undertakings which I will be part of. Notably, I will be more interested in learning from others with the need to be outstanding in my studies I will be taking and learn from the different perspectives offered.
I also have a liking for arts and sports. Therefore, the diverse opportunities offered at Pepperdine will be appropriate in enabling me to explore the interests I have in such areas. I will aim to engage in sports such as tennis as part of my co-curricular activities. I believe that the activities will enable me to break-off the monotony generally associated with being in school for long. The activities will also enable me to rejuvenate, especially having spent long hours in class. I understand that medical school is daunting and requires one to put in a large number of hours in a bid to attain the impeccable grades required. However, I will seek to achieve a balance with the need to explore the various opportunities which the institution offers. I would be glad if given a chance to be part of this great institution.
