American Greatness

Methods of Persuasion Applied in this Article, the Organizational & Logical Structure

Irrefutably, this study material has employed the pathos and ethos persuasive writing technique. Ethos sets the moral, societal code of conduct, whereas pathos triggers audiences’ emotions. Organizationally, the study has begun by acknowledging the supremacy of the American people. The study is organized effectively in that it explores contentious societal issues by primarily addressing the future of America’s election based on logical approaches. The piece of research has further taken a step in reflecting traditional America to prove its legibility by posing ethical argumentation questions to the audience. Summarily, the article has raised a controversial subjective argument that challenges the sovereignty of American publicity. Logically, the study’s information is well organized since it outlines the hierarchy of data and its relations towards the subject (Hanson 1).

Purpose of this piece in the study

This piece of material is set to address the cessation of the Democratic Party by ultimately substituting it with the radical progressive revolutionary movement, which presently presents a cornerstone to America’s extremist causes, cliques, and agendas. For instance, in the study, liberal progressivism is set to transform personality quirks, president Trump and other seemingly potential candidates by triggering a penultimate manifestation in terms of referendums (Hanson 1). Additionally, according to the study, it is the very same progressive revolutionary movement that holds the undying hope to redeem police from New York subway jumpers. Come to think of it, the article’s fundamental purpose in addressing America’s pressing issues is practically more than ever before.

The Target Audience

When it comes to greatness and supremacy of the American people, the target audience is without reasonable doubt the youths aged between 18 and 29. According to the immensity of the material, the youths present a burning desire for fuelling drastic reformations in society. A perfect example of such an approach lies in the campus culture from the study. The targeted academic elites, according to the survey, are guarded by a revolutionary clique that systemizes culturally segregated dorms, censorship matters, and attempts to disrupt lecturers in terms of disagreements. Additionally, the targeted youths are well suited for this study because the American reading demographics substantiate readers between the ages of 16 and 29 at 83% in terms of responsiveness to current trending affairs.

Nonetheless, adults would also be a probably targeted audience, be it not for their general newspaper adaptation. Adults are well cultured for the print newspaper, which automatically eliminates them from the equation. The reading demographic statistics confirm that adults aged 50 and above are highly responsive to print and online media. To break it down, as the cliché goes, the youths are future generations for any country’s progress. The supreme power to change America’s electoral systems and leadership is dependent on their potential willingness to impact a reformation or not.

Maslow’s Hierarchy of Needs, societal artifacts, cultural & social values, and modes of persuasion

Rhetorically, the persuasive piece appeals to Maslow’s Hierarchy of needs. The targeted Maslow’s needs include safety needs, such as the instance where a progressive mom decides to take her kids for a walk and have fun in the California municipal park. Another case justifies self-actualization needs by rhetorically posing the conflicting sides’ view in advocating for power to create heaven on earth. In the study, California Municipal Park is the most basic existing societal artifact (Hanson 1). The rhetor has also identified the dictatorial dominance of the Chinese Communist government, which is a degenerating social value. Socially, the universities have neglected sexual assault allegations, which in essence, spoil a person’s dignity. In as far as ethos, pathos, and logos in concerned, the rhetor has ultimately upheld pathos and ethos proofs.

Aristotle’s Artistic and Inartistic Rhetorical Proofs

Unquestionably, this article has explicitly employed Aristotle’s artistic rhetorical questions. In so doing, the piece has focused on pathos and ethos persuasion modes. To set the records straight, in terms of pathos approach, the rhetor has triggered the audience’s emotions by significantly directing logical arguments such as the instance when he/she questions the media’s influential rooted forces. The rhetor anticipates the public’s response to give a substantial reason behind the media’s reports concerning truthful and untruthful information. Additionally, the rhetor poses a challenging question about the Antifa’s violent state to the audience. The answers to these disputing questions are only guaranteed from an emotional approach rather than philosophical views.

Conversely, on ethos appeal, the rhetor has efficiently addressed moral, ethical issues by posing triggering the remonstration debate that incorporates America’s racism, nativism, sexism, oppression, and homophobia (Hanson 1). The moral standard issue is also entirely brought out in the study when the owner of a small business accidentally encounters vagrants’ defecating near his breezeway. Logically, the vagrants’ ought to be ashamed of their actions because it is not only immoral of them but also unlawful. In contrast to Aristotle’s artistic rhetorical proofs, the rhetor has inartistically employed Aristotle’s proofs by inserting direct quotations when signaling the opposing side views. In the article, one side of the argument demands power to create heaven on earth, whereas the opposers claim why a person would anticipate taking a road that ultimately leads to Orwellian nightmare?

Dr. Kenneth Burke’s Identification Strategy

Dr. Kenneth Burke asserts that identification is essential for any work rather than persuasion itself. According to Burke, whenever a person attempts to persuade, the outcome is nothing less than identification. Thus a party must identify with another. In the article, what Burke tries to prove is evidential when the rhetor identifies himself with celebrities dreaming of several strategies of executing the incumbent president.  Additionally, the rhetor positions himself as part of the learning faculty by claiming ownership of the universities that have destroyed the First Amendment.

Aristotelian Common Ground Strategy

Aristotelian common ground encompasses shared stylistic opinions between two opposing sides. The idea behind this initiative is to generate an agreement to get an agreement hence ‘common ground development.’ In the piece of study, the rhetor has adequately projected a common ground basis by raising Hillary Clinton’s proximity to State House in 2016. The rhetor confirms that nobody would dare to object her victory had she won the elections. nIn a more reasonable manner, presently, no one objects that she employed a foreign delegate to operate with external sources in discrediting and smearing her opponents.

Logical Fallacies

The issue to do with sovereignty is seemingly a logical fallacy presented by the rhetor. The rhetor believes an extreme, powerful force contributed to the landscape of the FBI, CIA, and Justice departments, which my sound mind, I, without reasonable doubt, credit it to the American people. When it comes to the 2020 election, yes, there will emerge an unexpected referendum but not only beyond Donald Trump’s record. What we are talking about here is the entire history of America. Trump, Obama, Bush, Churchill, are all involved in this big game. It will not be about Trump and his democratic opposition or candidates; it will be about America as a nation. Concerning the police issue, the approach is way beyond just New York jumpers threatening them. In fact, in my view, it is a big fallacy. The police always receive threats from all parties, not only leaning on the side.

From the above, the writer undeniably persuaded me to think as they do. In so doing, the rhetor motivated me to instead take a subjective and logical approach in dealing with pressing societal issues. The logical argumentations based on pathos and ethos appeal worked perfectly well for the article’s targeted audience. For instance, the arguments raised in the report are broad and philosophical in suiting modern day debatable issues. In as far as argumentation and debate are concerned, my knowledge of current affairs has immensely increased. The democratic election policies have made me develop a sensation towards studying politics. In a long way, integrity is fundamental as I have learned of necessary qualities when it comes to serving the nation. This class has made me realizes the significance of leadership, especially as I have been relating to my colleagues. My view towards life has shifted from its old habitual responses to a more developed logical approach. In the future, when it comes to dealing with technical issues, I will employ Aristotle’s proofs that usher in the pathos and ethos appeals.
