The article interprets the various versions of the Little Red Riding Hood story and particularly the recent film adaptations. The story of the Little Red Riding Hood began as a folktale told to young children by European mothers and nurses. The article notes that Charles Perrault published the first written version of LRRH and proceeds to highlight translations from other authors. Despite the variations, the different versions maintain the same theme that children should obey their parents when they walk through dangerous areas, and beware of seemingly friendly strangers, because wolves may lurk in every guise. The article argues that there is more to the story than that of a children’s story, such as the little girl represents a young woman experiencing profound sexual impulses. Other interpretations of the story are that the story is about violence against women, identity and sexuality issues, and a rite of passage for women.

The journal will help my research in interpreting and understanding the different themes, characters, and context of the Little Red Riding Hood story and how it has been adapted in films. The article has given me a broader understanding of the story. The journal will be vital in defining the similarities between the tale and some of the films adapted from it.

The journal discusses the multiple variations in the publishing of the story after world war II, including the different interpretations given by scholars and feminists about the tale. Some of the arguments of the tale outlined in the journal include perceptions of rape and feminism. Also, the journal discusses the symbolism of the little girl, the wolf, and the lessons of obedience that kids can learn from the story.
The article is essential in informing about the history of the Little Red Riding Hood story. Concerning the other source in this annotated bibliography, the journal offers more information that supports the argument of my other sources. The article is objective and addresses all perceptions of the subject. The primary goal of the article is to provide the history of Little Red Riding Hood’s story and discusses the various interpretations of the tale from scholars and feminists. Also, it offers insight into the analysis of the characters and the setting of the story.
I found the article useful in providing background information and different ways of interpreting the story. The way the journal discusses the various images in the story is both captivating and informative. The article will significantly contribute to my argument in the research paper by supporting my theories and interpretation of the tale.
