Anthropology
People in the world follow a particular culture. It could be described as their way of life. Culture defines the human behavior and norms that are found in human societies. Correspondingly, it also represents the unique knowledge, beliefs, capabilities, customs, and laws that people follow. People are different, and they have different cultures (O’Neil, 2006). Culture influences the learning process. Teachers have to know about the student’s academic abilities, and they should not rely more on ethnic and racial stereotypes. Culture and learning are connected in different ways. The early life experiences and the values that a person learns from his culture have an impact on the learning processes and expectations. It has also been proven that students who have similar cultural characteristics have a shared learning pattern, and they create a common learning style from it.
In addition to that, culture could also impact the child’s learning process through peers and parents. For every student to succeed in his or her education, he or she must have a deep understanding of the learning process. He or she should also understand the framework for the curriculum and instructional decisions. The parents and what they do may impact the child’s education. They teach the students the best learning methods that have worked according to the culture. The peers also exchange ideas on their cultural beliefs and how they can use what they believe to benefit them in their education (Russia, 2011). The interaction between the parents, the students, and their peers are essential since it shows that students can use their culture to improve their learning process. They are also educated more about their culture in school, and it helps every learner to understand his roots. It also influences the way children perceive education and their teachers.
