Application of models and frameworks by Tesla Inc
Very few companies received as much hate and admiration as Tesla. The reaction appears to be divided when Tesla releases a commodity like the Cybertruck: detractors see it as more proof that Chief Executive Officer Elon Musk is out of control and destined to fail, although proponents join in — within a month Tesla earned 200,000 preorders for the new vehicle. Tesla’s working hard on Autopilot 2.0, too (“Lessons from Tesla’s Approach to Innovation”, 2020). In short, it is the answer Musk gives to the auto-driving car. Newly popularized by the likes of Google’s Waymo initiative, driverless vehicles are already exploring the highways of our nation— although with mixed results— but every day, the system becomes more advanced, and engineers like Tesla are continually learning from their errors.
Many failures and problems had to be resolved, however. Though in 2017, Musk promised an autonomous drive from coast to coast, it never took place. He hasn’t abandoned all hope, although a scaled-down implementation has been confirmed that will take place by mid-2018. Musk and his colleagues are also somewhat a little behind in the Autopilot 2.0 overall development period (“Lessons from Tesla’s Approach to Innovation”, 2020). Tesla invented mega-charger technologies and a concept of a mega-charger system that could be used by customers. Thousands of electric semis have already been purchased by names such as PepsiCo and Anheuser-Busch, and Tesla will put up the first mega-charger stations inside their existing plants. The new mega-charger system has the potential to generate an additional four hundred miles of range to the current Tesla Semis unit. Role of Digital Leader in Manufacturing Industry in the U.S. (Tesla)
The leader’s position in digital transformation is critical in driving fast choice-making processes and catapulting the change. Dynamic leadership is a blend of transition leadership style and computer technology usages. Digital leadership is described as a balance of a leader’s culture and expertise in leveraging digital technology for value creation in firms.
The quickest way to develop new strategies and capabilities is by the co-creation strategy. This is where the incumbent leaders merge existing business and routine models and their ideas to innovate. A digital leader is required to manage the vision and culture for co-creation. Empirical research on the function of co-creation has also been carried out on international business machines (IBM). According to their 2015 CEO study, sixty-nine per cent of CEOs firmly believe the CEO’s position is critical to winning the highest technology achievements by partnership and co-creation with buyers and partners. This supports research that has been done on the value of the company’s leaders in digital leadership.
Digital leadership is a blend of digital history and know-how. Online leadership analysis is part of leadership research. It is based on the upper echelon hypothesis established by Hambrick and Mason in which manager characters will forecast organizational performance (“Digital Transformation: Digital Leadership Role in Developing Business Model Innovation Mediated by Co-Creation Strategy for Telecommunication Incumbent Firms,” 2019). As regards digital leadership, Pearl Zhu points out the digital leadership requirements that consist of some characteristics (“Digital Transformation: Digital Leadership Role in Developing Business Model Innovation Mediated by Co-Creation Strategy for Telecommunication Incumbent Firms,” 2019). A digital leader must be a thinking leader; they should have the capacity to be competitive in coping with the demand and competitiveness transition. They should be creative, with a mentality of creativity and innovation to turn the concept into practice(“Digital Transformation: Digital Leadership Role in Developing Business Model Innovation Mediated by Co-Creation Strategy for Telecommunication Incumbent Firms,” 2019). A digital leader should be visionary and able to provide guidance and become an ensemble in turning the new industrial revolution.
Moreover, they should be curious about the complex and sophisticated world owing to the causes of instability, confusion, difficulty, and ambiguity. A digital leader should have intellectual potential. A digital leader should be a profound leader, which is a type of digital leadership capability to lead in challenging times with in-depth knowledge and intelligence (“Society and the digital transformation,” 2017). They should use their expertise in reading, taking, and synthesizing information. One aspect of digital transformation is innovation in all-around placement. Its transition is achieved through a mix of goods, systems, and business strategies driven by digital technology to reinforce the place of products and services such as Tesla.
New technologies in manufacturing, R&D, and product capabilities
Tesla is the largest U.S. electric vehicle producer. Run by entrepreneur CEO Elon Musk, the automaker revamped the market with the Gigafactory’s revolutionary concepts and technologies, the Model S sedan, the Model X Crossover, the Mass-Market Model 3, and finally, the Model Y small SUV and the Blade Runner-inspired Cybertruck pickup. The organization even went through a variety of growing troubles on the path to top leadership. Tesla’s Chief executive officer Elon Musk predicts that in two years, all Tesla cars will be fully autonomous(“Tesla | Technology,” 2020). Tesla already has a semi-automated vehicle, namely the Tesla ‘S’ model, which can train one another using deep learning algorithms sent out and processed by sensors from the fleet. This knowledge tells the cars about modifying and finding obstacles in-flight and should strengthen every day (Milosheka, n.d.). Whereas engineers with a competing automaker are investigating the use of a solid-state battery — which can recharge present-gen electric motor batteries within minutes— the Tesla team is currently working on another innovation. Sadly, much of Tesla’s work into the new architecture of cells is a secret.
By incorporating their technologies into purpose-built Toyota vehicles to be introduced on Uber’s network, Toyota is partnering with Uber to introduce automated ride-sharing to the market (Bruijl, 2017). Fleet flight operations will begin in 2021. The Japanese automaker has stated that under a new company called Toyota Research Institute-Advanced D, it will spend nearly $3 billion to build autonomous car applications (Bruijl, 2017). Through digital transformation, Tesla has distinguished itself with modern technology and innovations.
