Approaches to The Problem of Slavery
Different approaches were suggested to handle the problem of slavery in America. However, the abolition approach was the most effective one for the government to consider, for it allowed for slavery to end in the country and created a multiracial society where everyone had equal rights despite their color or origin. Second, the approach gave the former slaves the right to continue living in America and their property, just like the Americans and enjoy the rights they were denied when they served as slaves. Third, the approach gave ensured that the rights of the former slaves were protected, unlike some of the criteria suggested that would have amounted to the infringing of their human rights, and that has amounted to the loss of life. Abolition came with laws that ensured that the former slaves, whether born in America or not, lived freely in the country and enjoyed their rights.
Antebellum Feminists
Antebellum feminists came up with several issues that they wanted to be addressed in the US, for they felt that they were being mistreated by being assumed that they were different from men. The feminists were radical in several issues that they wanted to be changed. First, they wanted men and women to be treated as they are similar and not different. Second, they were radical in calling for the women to be given the right to vote in the US just as men did. Third, the feminists were radical in calling for the girls to be educated like the boys. However, the feminist remained traditional in some aspects. First, the feminists did not call for equal pay for equal work at that time, and thus the women continued to receive less compensation for the same job as men. Second, the feminists remained traditional in calling for women to be allowed to have combat roles in the military equal to men.
