APRN Board of Nursing Regulations
A Nurse Practitioner (NP) is part of Advance Practice Registered Nurses (APRN). Moreover, nurse practitioners, having attained a master’s degree, and registered as full practicing APRNs, work independently, organized, and is closed to patients.
In Florida, the APRN board does not allow APRNs full mandate over practices termed as restricted practice. The same applies to Michigan State. On the other hand, Florida State uses a prudent person doctrine test to determine whether a nurse accused of breach duty is responsible or not. The legal test relies on the question, “Did the defendant act reasonably under the circumstance?” Florida State allows APRNs to practice within the full scope of their education and experience to enhance the quality of health care in the State. Regulations in the State, such as the Fresco test, allows testing of nurse competency before giving a full mandate to practice within the full scope of education and experience, as such, uploading and improving the quality of care in the State.
APRNs may adhere to regulations above by being familiar with state laws. Requirements change from time to time; as such, a healthcare practitioner must know currently ruled of engagement as it will improve collaboration among healthcare professionals and improve healthcare outcomes. Moreover, registered nurses are supposed to be aware of APRN regulations on a state. As such, they are mindful of federal laws and regulations that limit one’s scope of work ensures that APRN practices to the full extent of licensure.
