Arabic Language and Society
The Arabic language is spoken by over two hundred million worldwide. It is ranked six in all the words. Arabic is the primary language in countries like United Arab Emirates, Saudi Arabia, Egypt, Morocco, and many other countries. It is mainly spoken in nations like Somalia and used by the Muslims in their holy writings worldwide. The language has existed for more than a hundred decades.
Arabic is said to have started in Arabian Peninsula. The first people to speak the language where the nomadic tribes who were in the northern part of the country. The word Arab from Arabic, which means nomadic. In the beginning, Arabs occupied the east of Mesopotamia then the west of Lebanon and later settled on the south of Sinai. Arabic is part of the Semitic languages. Other Semitic languages are Hebrews and Aramaic. However, some of these Semitic languages no longer exist due to the domination of the Arabic language.
In the 21st century, the word Modern Standard Arabic is the new term. MSA has a modification where other modern names are present, and also changes were made on the grammar constructions. MSA is now taught in various learning institutions, and it is also applicable to work stations and media stations. The Arabic has also taken terms from other languages such as Hebrew and English.
The Arabic culture is a fascinating one starting from the music to the dances. The main form of communication before was poetry; however, in modern times are blogging, newspapers, and many others. The Arabic dance is known as an expressive dance, and it is done by making movements of the torso. The dance entails the change of various body parts. The music of Arabs is involved in the use of instruments such as rabab and violin. The music can be rural or urban.
